craft work
Expansion
Arts and crafts have been a part of
human culture for centuries and
continue to hold significant value in
our society today. Not only do they
provide a creative outlet for
individuals, but they also have the
potential to empower and develop
communities, particularly in
developing communities like mine. In
December 2022 I had the impact of
being trained to do authentic
Ndebele craft work. I wish to join the
promotion of arts and crafts for the
economic empowerment of artisans. I
want to provide training and
resources that can develop my skills
further. Opportunities are scarce.

The promotion of arts and crafts can lead to

economic empowerment for artisans,

particularly in developing countries. In many

developing countries, artisans are often
marginalized and excluded from the formal
economy, making it difficult for them to earn a
sustainable income. However, by promoting
the arts and crafts industry, artisans like me
can gain access to new markets and
customers, which can lead to economic
empowerment.
Training and Development

Empowerment
People who feel empowered within
their work will be more effective at
influencing communities and
gaining their trust.

Upliftment
Consequently, people will feel a
greater sense of autonomy, value,
and confidence in their work when
they are empowered.

Fufilment
Personal autonomy is the extent to
which a person feels independent
and can make their own decisions
about the work they do.
