To Whom it May Concern,

I feel like many other students, while writing these letters, are going to put things involving

academics. Of course, academic performance is important when considering hiring someone. But I feel

like many people overlook the biggest thing, the effort the teacher is willing to put into their students.

Meaning the effort they put into their relationships with the students and others in the building. Before

meeting Ms. Hawkes, many teachers I've had always just taught their lesson, made assignments, and left

not caring at all about their students. I feel like some teachers I've had in school never even knew my

name, or genuinely cared even, but when I started spending every day with Ms. Hawkes, she genuinely

cared about us. She would ask about our lives outside of school, our interests, what we need help with,

and puts lots of effort into making people comfortable. Without that special bond, nothing relating to

academics matters at that point from a student point of view because the student doesn't feel welcome and

willing to learn. Ms. Hawkes and I have built a very strong bond throughout her time teaching, we have

many similar interests and she is the first teacher who actually cares about me. I've been dealing with a lot

of stress lately and other things. While talking to Ms. Hawkes one day, she said she noticed I’ve been

down and asked if i've been doing okay. When I was talking to her, she was listening with all her

attention and was truly sympathetic towards me. I will never forget our bond, and I hope you hire Ms.

Hawkes so she can build more good relationships.
