Week 4

Reflection!

Instruction: Please answer the following in not less than 100 words
per item or question.

1. Describe the type of community you are living as of the moment?

- I belong in an urbanized community surrounded by factories, a lot of modern houses, malls, buildings,
etc. Noises are everywhere coming from different vehicles day and night. The nightlife seems restless,
and people are so busy working for their family. Air is not as safe to breath because of pollution caused
by smokes from factories and cars. I belong in the community where big trees are rarely to find and
roads are always busy 24/7.

2. Is the community you are living in right now healthy? Explain why.
- The community I am living right now is not as healthy as where I came from because of different
pollutions and absence of tress. Beautiful mountains were replaced by the tallest buildings and
prestigious malls. Nothing compares with the province life where I’m used to live that gives me clear
comparison between a healthy and peaceful community. Walking in the night road alone feeds my
anxiety as if there’s someone chasing me that makes me agitated to walk alone again.

3. Out of the 11 Components of a Successful Community, choose 3 components where the community
you are living in is successful and explain why.
 Informed Citizen Participation – I could say that my community is healthy in this particular aspect
because every citizen actively participate by means of fair and just voting during local elections. Even
serving local boards, attending public hearings and being involved in community activities. Every
individual has the freedom to share their knowledge and skills to contribute to community life. All
sectors in our community take their responsibility for the civic education and public information for the
better.

 Community Services, Facilities, and Utilities – we do have essential facilities and services that are always
open for the people. There are schools and universities you can enroll to, parks to chill, big roads, police
fire and hospitals that is accessible. Almost everything that you need are available in my community.

 Transportation - active transportation plays a large role in ensuring a healthy community, the
significance of the role active transportation often noted. People can bike, walk, or use other forms of
active transportation which is vital in our daily living. Local planning and transportation partners can
work together to encourage inclusive active transportation that promotes exercise in our area. Our
community will benefit from putting time, energy and resources into societal factors that will affect
everyone’s health.

Note: Please type your answers on the definition on the types of community and your answers on the reflection on a
separate MS Word sheet and pass it to me on or before Friday, September 10, 2021 @ 12noon.
