Research Methodology

1. Considering the qualities mentioned by the author, what do you think should be the top two
qualities of a researcher? Why? (5 points)
I believe it would be Interest and Knowledge to be in the top two because these two are
essentially took place in your research journey. You can’t come up with a good idea without
enough knowledge about the topic that you are interested in. Without interest, you can’t create a
research topic that is relevant to the society. These two qualities are important for the researcher
because research won’t be successful if they are lacking over the other qualities mentioned by
the author. Research will not be as the best by just these two qualities, but research could at least
progress and abide in the making.

2. What other qualities you think can be added from the list? Explain (5 points)
As far as concerned, a good researcher must properly acquire knowledge about research
activities and complete the program with a great result. Research is not easy to accomplish
without the qualities needed of a good researcher. They will struggle along the way and face a lot
of circumstances that might be a cause of failure to their research. I believe that it is important to
have these 3 qualities as follows:
a. Patience - Patience is the virtue of scientific research. Successful researchers continue to
work without knowing when or where they will make big strides or achieve them. Their
perseverance is being tried from time to time, but this uncertainty cannot diminish their
perseverance and enthusiasm in the long run.
b. Concentration - There are numerous applications and benefits to concentration. Studies
have shown that it helps with learning, increases understanding, improves memory, aids
in concentration, and allows you to avoid pointless or unnecessary ideas.
c. Courage - Entering the world of research requires a lot of guts because the results are
never certain. It takes years of research to even begin to grasp the subject. If a new route
may give fresh information, it requires innovation. Taking the risk of being evaluated for
a new discovery's reliability and validity requires bravery. It might take many hours,
days, or even years to develop fresh ideas that can stand up to scrutiny and be accepted
by the masses.

3. What are the qualities of a researcher mentioned in the article that you possess? What are the
qualities that you do not yet have? How will you develop these qualities? (5 points)
The qualities of a researcher mentioned in the article that I possess are interest, knowledge,
motivation, commitment, and integration. The qualities that I don’t have are inquisitiveness,
excellence, sacrifice, scholarly approach, and recognition. Good quality is defined differently by
everyone. In other words, what I think is a good thing for you may not be good for me. So, you
must do what seems right and significant to you. Everyone has various and unique qualities,
some of which are known and others of which will be known when the time comes for them to
be discovered. Because everyone has wonderful characteristics within that possess all these
qualities, you shouldn't try to gain them from others right away because you'll end up forgetting
your own. So, live your research and dedicate yourself and in the manner that you feel are right.
Explore them when you need them and let yourself be flexible to take some risks in doing your
research.
