of cattle, with effective from Jan 18th. 2. AP and Telangana CMs to submit Detailed Project Reports (DPR) of all new projects of Krishna and Godavari River Management Board (KRMB & GRMB) to Jal shakti Minister. As per the official parameters, if the chemical oxygen demand (COD), which indicates organic pollutant load is higher than 250mg per litre, then it should not be released into rivers. Most of the gujarati rivers have COD in the range of 700 - 1000 mg per litre. Whereas Dissolved Oxygen (which indicates healthiness of a river) should be around 6-8 mg per litre, but most of the perineal rivers have less than 2.9 mg per litre DO. State government has proposed 2300 crore project to release the effluent in to the deep sea which caters around 4500 industries for effluent treatment. 7.
