IN CHRIST ALONE

WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS

2. Have we trials, and temptations?

We should never be discouraged;

Can we find a Friend so faithful,
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness

Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Saviour, still our refuge

Do thy Friend despise, forsake thee?

In His arms He'll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there.
ABIDE WITH ME
1. Abide with me; fast falls the eventide;
The darkness deepens; lord, with me abide;
When other helpers; fail, and comfort flee.
Help of the helpless, O abide with me.
2. Swift to its close ebbs out life's little
day.
Earth's joys grow dim, its glories pass
away.
Change and decay in all around I see.
O thou who changest not abide with me.
3. I need thy presence every passing hour;
What but thy grace can foil the tempter’s
