CDX LV UNIT 3: Introduction to Automotive Safety

Unit Summary
A. Your employer is responsible for maintaining a safe work environment; you are responsible
for working safely.
B. Always wear the correct PPE such as gloves or hearing protection.
C. Accidents and injuries can be avoided by safe work practices.
D. Every workshop should mark evacuation routes; always know the evacuation route for your
workshop.
E. OHS/WHS is a federal agency that oversees safe workplace environments and practices.
F. The EPA monitors and enforces issues related to environmental safety.
G. Workshop policies and procedures are designed to ensure compliance with laws and
regulations, create a safe working environment, and guide workshop practice.
H. Identify hazards and hazardous materials in your work environment.
