The time of the testimonies was a particularly enriching time for us.

Each testimony was

a special moment of rediscovering the Lord at work in the call of His servants. Despite the

particularity of each testimony, Pastor Penninah's testimony had a huge impact on us. This

testimony edified us in five ways.

The first point was the consistency with which she presented her vocation testimony. She

told in a logical and progressive way how she came to believe in her calling. From her childhood

dream of wanting to be a pastor's wife, she is now a pastor herself. The way she is convinced that

she is called was a great surprise for us. Indeed, the conviction of her call came to her through a

combination of circumstances. First, the Bishop of Nigeria gave her a theological scholarship

because she was a first in religious education; then she accepted to come to Africa University

with the support of her parents. She learns and sees the pastoral work. Finally, she fell in love

with it and was convinced of its call. So, her story was simple and clear to us.

The second point is the innocence with which she presented her testimony. She did not

try to impress or convince us through her story. She just presented it with a smile. The coherence

of her story and her love for the ministry made us question the joy that animated us at the

beginning of our ministry.

The third point is his love for the work of God. We felt this throughout his story.

Through her willingness to be a pastor's wife and her overflowing joy in serving God, we see

that she had a high regard for pastoral ministry. So, during her testimony, we spent some time in

introspection. Do we love God's work as our beginning? This is always a question for reflection.

The fourth point is the importance of his parents. They gave him a Christian education.

They shared with her their esteem for the work, in other words, they taught him to walk with
God. Having been evangelised and converted by my father, I could identify myself with her. So,

parents have an important role to play in the life of their child or children.

The fifth point is the providential actions of God or divine providence. She did not

mention any spiritual experience or revelation from a man of God. However, we see the hand of

God in all the events that led him to be at Africa University for her training. He directed

everything from his family life to Africa University to get a scholarship from her Bishop. So,

God is in control of all the events of our lives even if we do not explicitly see His presence.

This testimony was an inspiration and teaching for us. It brought to life Romans 8:28 and

Revelation 2:4-5 which invite us to understand that God is in control of everything and asks us to

return to our first love. It has allowed us to introspect and question some of our goals.
