POST-OPERATIVE PATIENT 2

LPN is necessary when carrying for the life of the surgical patient. LPN contributes a lot

to the care plan needed for the surgical client. LPN is important in ensuring that collecting blood

samples as well as another specimen of surgical patients is possible. LPN helps in administering

oral as well as intravenous medicine. LPN does this by collaborating within all the care

providers, dressing wounds where needed and gathering information regarding the medical

information of each patient.

Research shows that there is a surgical procedure that is connected to a pregnant patient.

There are several problems or disorder that might face a pregnant woman that will lead to the

demand for surgery almost immediately or later during a given trimester. These disorders if not

attended to, might lead to miscarriage and also endanger the life of the woman and the fetus. Any

kind of disorder in a pregnant woman should be treated almost immediately.

Most of the surgeries for a pregnant woman involves those that are connected to the

abdomen, the ones that increase risk probabilities and those that might cause miscarriage.

Appendectomy surgery is a surgery cause by Appendicitis disorder. This disorder might develop

during pregnancy, and the procedure should be done almost immediately. This disorder is as a

result of a ruptured appendix, and this may harm the fetus or result to miscarriage. This disorder

results in abdominal pains that may last for more than 6 hours, followed by the problem of

vomiting as well as nausea. If a pregnant woman experiences these symptoms, they should visit

the hospital as soon as possible.

The patient needs acute care. The RN is required to initiate something known as an IV,

which may shave the abdomen of a pregnant woman to a given room for a good and clean

incision. In case the patient was experiencing nausea or even vomiting, it is important that the

patient is provided medication meant to treat these symptoms. After that, the surgery is carried

out.

After surgery, a pregnant woman will be required not to work until she gets better, and

the surgery wound has already healed. The woman needs to avoid doing a lot of bending so that

they might avoid feeling pain after surgery. The patients need to be involved in activities that

won't stretch their abdomen to allow enough time for the wound to heal and avoid further

complication that might be brought around if the wound is further damaged. A pregnant woman

after surgery should ensure that they take a lot of bone soup to strengthen the fetus and their

body after surgery.

After surgery, the patient should ensure that they take vegetables and fruits to increase the

rate at which the surgical wound heals and help avoid nausea. After the surgical operation the

patient needs emotional care from both the nurse and the family, they need people around to

ensure that they do not feel lonely and discouraged. It is important that the family of the patient

should be advised and educated on ways to take care of the patient after the surgery. Educating

the patient’s relatives is important for post care.

There is information that the LPN needs to identify under the care of the RN. The RN

will need information regarding the registration of the patient, the developed plan care given or

provided for the patient, the reaction of the patient to the pain killers. The acute care provided for

the patient when they arrived and the lab test result for the test given to the patient during the

admission.
