1.) In multi-grade classes, a teacher must use the strategy that is often used in science.

This
strategy is POE, it’s a strategy that works best with demonstrations that allows immediate
observations, it can be used for finding out students’ initial ideas, it provides teachers with
information about students thinking. This strategy also generates discussions, motivating
students to want to explore the concept and generating investigation. In order for pupils to arrive
at good chances of providing their good predictions, as a multi-grade teacher I will use the POE
strategy through the following steps.
In the initial phase, I will introduce the students to the task or the instructions (The
students were then told that this was not a test but their views were sought on their explanation of
this phenomenon. Students were independently asked to write down their answers to the
following questions. So, in step 1 Predict, students will predict what happens to the grapes (one
peeled and one with its skin) if they are dropped in a glass jar with lemonade? This will state and
explain their prediction giving reasons for prediction. In this step, as a teacher, I will ask the
students to independently write their own predictions of what will happen and I will ask what
they think they will see and why they think this.
Steps 2 Observe
In this step, the students perform the experiment with four grapes of six Questions: What
happened to the grapes when dropped in the jar with lemonade. The students were required to
independently write down their observations with reasons. As a multi - grade teacher, I will carry
out the students to demonstrate, allow time to them to focus observation and to write down what
they do observe.
In this step also I will ask students to amend or add to their explanation to take account of the
observation. After that, students will have committed their explainations to a paper and discuss
their ideas.
Step 3 Compare and Explain
Students compared their observations with their predictions. Are they in agreement or
disagreement and also they will explain their reasons.
Finally, students within each group discussed their answers to their questions after which they
will write down their final reason and explaination.
As a multi-grade teacher, in order for them to have a good prediction in this kind of experiment, I
will give an experiment to make the lesson more challenging and interesting. I will also make
sure that the lesson was presented in a view without capturing the interest of the learner. Also,
the approach that I will use in teaching catches students’ participation and cooperation in the
activities and is able to generate ideas using POE Approach. Then, by that, the students can
relate themselves to the topic presented through prediction, observation, and explanations.
2. For me, I can implement PWA in teaching Mathematics if it is needed in the lesson especially
in problem-solving. I'll say, I’ll use PWA especially in teaching pupils how to measure and solve
for the area, perimeter, volume, and the like. It can also be used in teaching weight, length, and
temperature. It would be nice if pupils get to indulge themselves first with real objects where
they can use measuring tools and then solve the missing measurements or problems

3. For me, one of the reasons why we need to integrate lessons when teaching is to allow our
students to have a deeper understanding of the course and the subject matter and how to apply
the material that they have learned in the classroom in a real-world situation. In addition, it also
enables children to acquire and use basic skills in all the content areas and to develop positive
attitudes for continued successful learning throughout the elementary grades.
