Statement of the problem

Plastic production, waste creation, and the accompanying flood in Barangay

Santa Ana, Taytay Rizal are mostly attributed to the growing population, continual need
for plastic products and improper waste disposal. The researchers come up with the
idea of designing and fabricating Automated Non-biodegradable waste Compactor with
Operated Reward System (ANCORS) machine that compacts solid non-biodegradable
waste for a proper retrieval and transportation of plastic wastes to different companies
that utilize used plastic to create a new useful product. In exchange for the non-
biodegradable trash that the residents will collect, the machine features an operating
incentive system that is specifically designed to compensate primary demand for food of
the residents. Consequently, the suggested solution will respond to the following
queries at the conclusion of this study:

1. What is the financial effectiveness of deploying an ANCORS machine over traditional

drainage cleaning methods in Barangay Santa Ana?

2. How much non-biodegradable waste in terms of percentage will be minimized and

avoided from blocking drainage systems, causing flooding, if the community employs
the ANCORS machine?

3. Why is utilizing ANCORS machine in the community an effective solution to help

reduce the impact of flooding to Barangay Santa Ana?

4. How does utilizing ANCORS machine advantage residents in the community in terms
of:

4.1. Courage in collecting non-biodegradable waste

4.2. Benefits from collecting non-biodegradable waste

4.3. Ease in proper waste disposal

5. How much non-biodegradable waste in terms of weight the compactor can compress
in a single day?
Objectives of the Study

General Objective

The general objective of the study is to design and fabricate an automated non-
biodegradable waste compactor with operated reward system machine.

Specific Objectives

This project aims to resolve improper disposal of non-biodegradable waste in

the community, hence, making a proper waste disposal as a task in which residents can
get an incentive or reward when doing so. In order to measure its effectiveness, the
following objectives must be obtained:

1. To compact solid non-biodegradable waste for a proper retrieval and transportation of

plastic wastes to different companies that utilize used plastic to create a new useful
product.

2. To help reduce the impact of flooding in Barangay Santa Ana, Taytay Rizal.

3. To compensate for the primary needs of the community, namely food, in exchange
for the waste collected.

4. To be able to recommend the ANCORS machine as an efficient, manageable

alternative non-biodegradable waste disposal bin in the community.
