Post Rehearsal or Lesson Reflections

Content Adjustment: Based on diagnostic and formative assessments during today’s lesson/rehearsal, list any repertoire
or activities that were omitted from the plan. Why? Will the omitted items need to be included in tomorrow’s
lesson/rehearsal?
 Nothing was omitted

Rehearsal or Lesson Adjustment: If you were going to re-teach today’s lesson/rehearsal, how would you have done it
differently.
 I would have taken some different clarinets with me instead of Amelia, Jasmine, and Brittney. There are some
clarinets I have not worked with in the small group setting, and last week Jasmine and Brittney were really
struggling, but today they were on it

Reflection on Teaching: Analyze and evaluate your lesson/rehearsal and classroom management.
Classroom Management
 Behavior management went well as we were in small groups so students acted correctly and were attentive
Lesson/Rehearsal
 The lesson/rehearsal went well. Students significantly improved from last week as all the pitches were correct.
Caitlin sometimes struggled to hit the correct partial but was able to get right back on track
 The clarinets were super on it. They did very well, all of the pitches and rhythms were correct throughout
 Working with Thomas one on one was very helpful. The worksheet was a huge help and I think it connected some
dots for him. I had him play m. 60-76 with the worksheet so fingerings were written in and he did so well. He
definitely scored in the 60’s as opposed to his pre-test score of 4. He just needs to write in the fingerings and
eventually they will be committed to memory.
