1. What is the past tense?

Answer:
The simple past tense, sometimes called the preterite, is used to talk about a completed action

the action can be in the recent past or the distant past and the action duration is not important.

 Pas continuous tenses; The past continuous tense is used to describe an
ongoing activity in the past. Often, it is used to set the scene for another

 Past perfect tenses; The past perfect tense is used to emphasize that an action
