Guidance Notes

Conduct of Regional Level Roll-Outs for the

Training on Malaria Elimination Surveillance Strategy and Tools

I. Rationale

The Department of Health National Malaria Control and Elimination Program

(NMCEP), with support from PSFI started with the nationwide roll-out of the webinar –

Training on Malaria Elimination Surveillance Strategy and Tools last 2021. The training was

offered at the level of the region and province, with participants coming from the Malaria

Program, Surveillance Unit, and Management and Information System (MIS) Department.

With the aim to cascade down the training to the program implementers at the facility

level, the target for 2022 is to conduct the training roll-out through the help of the Malaria

Program and MIS department from various Centers for Health and Development (with support

from the PHOs/HUCs).

This document foresees to provide some guidance to the CHDs/PHOs/HUCs in the

conduct of the training. It basically contains the references or resources that can be used, in line

with the methodologies identified in the learning design. In addition, as the NMCEP envisions

to strengthen and build the capacities of the region, the PHOs/HUCs in the conduct and

implementation of this training (more importantly on the concepts and systems), it is

encouraged that the resource speakers will come from the pool of regional and provincial level

staff.

IV. Other Administrative and Logistical Training Needs

• Setting-up of the Shared Resources Link / Online Training Kit for the Participants

o CHD/PHO/HUC can create a drive link and upload the files that participants
can access (eg. Copies of Presentations, Exercises, Training Videos, Reading
Materials)

• Electronic Link for the Attendance Sheet

o CHD/PHO/HUC to create a link for the attendance

o NOTE: PSFI will request Copies of the Accomplished Attendance Sheet per
Day

• Accomplished OLMIS Regional Roll-out Profile Form

o To facilitate the monitoring of OLMIS roll-out nationwide, PSFI/NMCEP

created an online form to be answered by each trained participant. Aside from
the attendance sheet, the training agency is requested to ensure that all
participants were able to accomplish the form in the link below:

o https://forms.gle/o8e33yDmbKoAYM3g9

• Setting-up of the OLMIS Training Site and OLMIS Training Accounts

o PSFI/NMCEP will set the OLMIS Training Site. Details will be provided to
the training agency a week before the scheduled training.

• Training Certificates and Certificate of Attendance

o Training Agency (CHD/PHO/HUC) to issue the certificates

o A certificate of training is awarded to participants who successfully
completed the course. ‘Training completion’ pertains to the participants
who:
▪ Attended all sessions/modules from the two-day activity
▪ Passed the pre-test and post-test
▪ Participated in all the training exercises and activities
▪ Submitted the Post-Activity Feedback Form/Survey (link to be shared
▪ during the training)
▪ Submitted the Roll-Out Profile Form
