For every type of hospital bed room, wall lighting fixtures are placed over the bed at heights of 1550mm to 1950mm
GAS SUPPLY
* Minimum of 10 cylinders to be provided in manifold room. The additional gas cylinders will be stored in cylinder store.
A linear space of 3600mm will be provided for mounting the 10 cylinders.
All cylinders to be positioned where they can be easily moved.
AMBULANCE PARKING
PARKING IN THE AMBULANCE BAY
There should be sufficient space for each parked ambulance to fully open/close all doors when the bay is full without colliding with walls, pillars, equipment or other ambulances.
There should be space inside the bay for ambulances with code patients to park immediately beside the entrance to the emergency department.
Parked ambulances should not impact the patient access path to the emergency department.
Patient access to emergency department should not require passing by any potentially hazardous materials (garbage, bio, sharps, equipment, piping, supplies, etc.).
Access doors from the ambulance bay to the emergency department must open at a minimum speed of 20 inches per second'. This means that a six foot opening made of up two 36 inch sliding doors would open in approximately 1.8 seconds.
Since expensive security provision is required at each entrance, the number of hospital entrances is usually restricted as far as possible.
The Accident and Emergency (A&E) Department will need its own entrance because it is open for 24 hours and because there are clinical and aesthetic reasons for not allowing accident traffic to mix with out-patients and visitors.
Supply and catering departments will require heavy goods vehicle access with a loading bay.
Fuel will have to be delivered to storage facilities, probably adjacent to the boiler house.
The mortuary will need access for hearses,a similar requirement but will need more extensive adjacent car parking.
Loading bays for the supply centre could be placed more to the rear of the site as could access to the mortuary and boiler house fuel storage.
INDOOR PLANTS
Plants promote healing
Plants decrease stress
Plants have even been shown to increase productivity for the staff who are at work in the hospital, too.
Plants improve your overall sensory experience
