Reader Response to The World Is An Apple by Alberto S.

Florentino

The story The World Is An Apple is about a man named Mario who is experiencing

extreme poverty. He has a dishonest job with Pablo his friend. He got a lot of money for it. But,

he changed when he met Gloria, the lovely and admirable woman. Despite Mario past life, she

accepted him because she believes that Mario can change. And because Gloria trust him, Mario

changed.

For me, the whole play is sort of morality thing. When we are trying to change for better,

here comes temptation and we give it for our own. We gives up on trying because we think that

we cannot do it and that isn’t suited to live that kind of life. We ignore the please of people to try

again because were already give up on ourselves. Money is important but we have to get it in a

right way, because it is better to be poor that living in a happy and peaceful family, than living as

a rich who’s life is full of lies.

The moral lesson in the story The World Is An Apple by Alberto S. Florentino, is to be

content with what you have. If you were bad in the past, someone will come and will change

you. To support you in the trials of life. To support you in things that will be good for you and

stop you for wrong doings. And that’s Gloria the one who changed Mario
