ABSTRACT - Malaysia was introduced to BIM in 2007, at that time
the acceptance of BIM technology was still in a weak state
compared to the neighboring country which is Singapore which is
much more advanced with this BIM technology. Although, the
knowledge about BIM has been extended to construction
companies but they have not yet implemented BIM technology in
their construction projects. In 2013, Malaysia has expanded BIM
knowledge to the public. CIDB intensified the implementation of
BIM in Malaysia by creating the Malaysia BIM Roadmap to
introduce BIM in the construction industry with the aim of more BIM
implementation by 2020.The Malaysian government has looked far
ahead to the advantages of BIM with JKR having made Pelan
Strategik 2021 - 2025. Malaysia wants as much as 80%
implementation of BIM in construction projects in Malaysia by 2025.
The benefits from the implementation of BIM technology that has
caused Malaysia to want BIM to be implemented in every
construction project. In fact, BIM technology will provide long-
lasting benefits in the future to the country and future generations.
