Memorial Hospital Dialysis Unit celebrated its 3 rd

Founding Anniversary held at the Bulwagan ng Dinalupihan hosted by its Staff Nurses, headed by Dr.
Melinda Layug, Dialysis Unit Attending Physician. The occasion started at about seven in the morning
with a Holy Mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Ramon G. Mariano followed by foregoing activities such as
Registration of Dialysis patients and their respective relatives; Random blood sugar testing and
Urinalysis conducted by JCPJMH medical technology staff.

The occasion was attended by Hon. Congresswoman Maria Angela S. Garcia, Hon. Mayor
Herman Santos Jr., and other related guests from Municipality of Dinalupihan, Municipal Health Office,
DSWD Region, and Malasakit Center.

The main event of the program started with opening remarks from Dr. Melinda Layug followed
by Dr. Edmundo Pasamba, Dialysis Unit Nephrologist, who discussed the Kidney Disease Early Screening,
Prevention and Kidney Transplant; Rosebelita Carlos, RD, Hospital Dietician I, who lectured about
Nutrition and Renal Diet, and Dr. Larla Anjuli Torre, Internist, BGHMC, who tackled about Psychological
Adaptation of Dialysis Patients and Family. Whereas, Dialysis Unit Staff Nurses Gina Tantiangco and
Cristian Bacani discussed Dialysis Access Care and Peritoneal Dialysis respectively. During the event,
each Dialysis patients of JCPJMH Dialysis Unit received a financial assistance worth 5,000 pesos as well
as the Dialysis Unit received an amount of 20,000 pesos cash thru the effort of Hon. Congresswoman
Maria Angela S. Garcia from DSWD Regional office.

All the Patients and their relatives were overwhelmed by the unexpected financial assistance
extended to them by DSWD region. And the event was indeed a success with a closing remark given by
no other than the JCPJMH Chief Nurse Marfe Salvador RN, MAN.
