NATIONAL ARTS MONTH CELEBRATION

I. RATIONALE

Every year, the nation observes National Arts Month for an entire month in February (NAM).
National Arts Month is promoted by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts and was first
established in 1991, under the administration of the late President Corazon C. Aquino, through
Presidential Proclamation No. 683.

In keeping with the celebration, the Municipality of Polomolok, through the Polomolok Tourism
Office Arts and Culture Section, prepared a series of events in collaboration with the South Cotabato
Provincial Government Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Museum (ACTM) Unit to identify, foster, and
promote the skills of South Cotabateños and the seven vibrant arts.

II. OBJECTIVES

The activity aims to:

1. Bring South Cotabateños one in arts and culture;
2. Advocate arts belongs to all;
3. Present a series of events that explore the many facets of arts and culture of South
Cotabato.

III. OPERATIONS DETAILS

Arts Enthusiasts, Cultural Educators, and General Public.
