TITLE: LOW PERFORMING STUDENTS’ PERCEPTION TOWARDS MATHEMATICS: A

CASE OF SECONDARY SCHOOL OF HINLAYAGAN NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

Statement of the Problem

This study primarily aims to determine the low performing students’ perception towards Mathematics
of Grade VII to Grade X students of Hinlayagan National High School SY 2022-2023.

Specifically, this study seek answers to the following questions:

1. What is the level of perception of low performing students of grade VII to grade X towards
mathematics in terms of:

1.1 Self-Confident;

1.2 Motivation;

1.3 Value;

1.4 Interest;

1.5 Anxiety?

2. What are the effects of students’ perception on their Mathematics Achievement?

3. Based on the findings of the study, what recommendations to authorities on strategies that can be
employed to enhance positive perceptions towards mathematics?
