Activity 1

Athletes need to be physically fit, but there are other factors involved in performing at your
best. Athletes and exercise enthusiasts frequently discover that concentrating on physical
health alone is unable to reach top performance. The psychology of sports and fitness can help
with that. Sports psychologists are experts in maximizing the mental and psychological variables
that affect performance through individual or group interventions.

Sport psychology is a specialty that employs psychological knowledge and abilities to solve
difficulties related to athletes' optimal performance and wellbeing, the social and
developmental elements of participating in sports, and systemic problems with sports
environments and organizations.

Sports psychology focuses on how psychological variables influence athletic performance. The
impact of participating in sports, exercise, and other physical activities on one's psychological
well-being and physical health is another area that sports psychologists study.

Sport psychologists are primarily concerned with two things: (a) assisting athletes in using
psychological concepts to achieve optimum mental health and to enhance performance
(performance enhancement); and (b) comprehending how engaging in sport, exercise, and
physical activity affects an individual's psychological development, health, and well-being over
the course of their lifetime.

Scenario 1: As a newly hired P.E teacher in barrio school and the road there is not
materialized, there was a river about 4 feet deep nearby and the school is uphill and plenty of
trees surround it and the school plan to join the next year sports municipal competition, I'm
going to select my players according to good character, passion, self-confidence, willingness
of a students. Why I choose these four? Because if they are going to train or play, good
character of the player is a must if the player has a good character the player will act and
respect others in the training and in the competition. Good character plays a big role as an
athlete.
As a newly hired P.E. teacher in a barrio school with no road access, a river nearby that was
about 4 feet deep, an plenty of trees near it, and the school plan to participate in the municipal
sports competition the following year, I'm going to choose my players based on their moral
character, passion, self-confidence, and willingness. I choose these four, why? Since a player's
character affects how they act and treat others throughout practice and competition, a player's
character is essential if they are going to play or train. Being a good person is important for
athletes.A player's self-confidence and belief in their ability to succeed are shown during
practice and competition. willingness to try new things, to learn from coaches or teachers, and
to accept correction.

Swimming and sprinting are the sports I would pick if I had to base my decision on the school's
surroundings. When it's sunny weather, we can utilize the nearby 4 feet deep river as our
practice area, and when it's raining, we can run around the school to work on the players' leg
strength. The second sport is sprinting, which allows us to exercise uphill while also enhancing
the athletes' cardiovascular systems, quickness, stride length, and leg muscle strength. My
athletes will become stronger, quicker, and healthier runners by running uphill.

As you can see, I picked a sport that would be good for both the players and the school. Given
that the school is in a barrio, the surrounding can benefit the players if we take advantage of it,
and the school's expenses are low. There is a river close to the school, so swimmer athletes
don't need to travel to a city with a pool to train. Athletes who run can train in the uphill areas
near the school instead of going to a sports complex.

In order to help your athletes improve, you must develop your creativity and resourcefulness as
a coach and a P.E. teacher in the barrio. Even though the school's facilities are poor, you may
still train your athletes there as long as you take advantage of the environment that will make
them great players.

Scenario 2 : Junior high students were riding in a jeepney wearing volleyball uniforms as
players now in Integrated meets. The name of the school they came from was imprinted on
their uniform. In a passenger a man who is autistic keep saying as passengers coming up "
palihog idog kag pungko tadlong kay may paseho mapungko'', the players answered "ay nanu
sya? E myday ko ni blah while holding their cp's, when the autistic man went down the jeep,
the players shouted to him, goodbye manong, I Luv U at the same time laughing out loud! I
noticed the players are so noisy, sitting wide almost seeing their underwear under their
shorts. The players have tournament in the morning and went out on their own having lunch
at the city before going back to the venue for the afternoon tournament. Having said the
second scenario as question no.2, kindly point out what are the irregularities happening
inside the jeepny, and where is the coach assigned to the group. What is the best remedy if
you are the coach of these players. Discuss vividly and provide specific solutions.

The volleyball players' irregularities inside the jeepney are including poor conduct, a lack of
respect, and bullying.Being a good athlete requires much more just being the best player; it also
requires good behavior. Despite the fact that you are the best player on the field, if you have
poor behavior, people will not like you. It is because in life, people with good character always
win in the end. Even if you are the best player in the world, people will dislike you if you behave
badly.

Given that they have a tournament in the afternoon, the volleyball coaches of the players in the
Jeep are negligent for allowing their players to leave without them. When there is an outside
school event, the coaches will be with their athletes at all times to ensure their safety.

Since we have a competition in the afternoon, if I were the coach of these players, I wouldn't
allow them go anywhere else without me for concern that something would happen to them
while they are on the ride. As a coach, I am accountable to my athletes, and their safety comes
first. If they choose to eat outside, I will accompany them to ensure their safety and to provide
guidance, but if there is a tournament I will strongly advise them to stay in the area where the
event is taking place; I will not permit them to eat outside because of the upcoming
tournament they were going to compete in.

I will penalize the athletes in the Jeep for acting badly after the incident as their coach. I will
point out their inappropriate conduct that they displayed earlier on public transportation so
that they would understand that what they did was improper and can be used to criticize our
school since their shirt has the school's logo. I will inform them that athletes need to have good
behavior in addition to becoming the best players. Your actions will reveal who and what you
are as a person, thus if you already show that behavior, you should change it in order to
improve yourself.
