Activity 1. Reflective Essay


Direction: Read the questions below carefully and write your answer on the space
provided.
After understanding the basic concept and nature of non-traditonal sports, what do
you think are the advantages of these over the streamed sports today?

Answer:
-The advantages of non-traditional sports over streamed sports today , is that we can
play it anywhere and anytime as long you have a place that is safety and wear proper gear
to prevent injuries. Unlike traditional sports you have to find right place to play it , example is
the volleball and basketball . Like me , im a volleyball player to able to play i have to find a
court the is safe and covered , and also it can play 6 players in each team , so that i have to
find people to play. Fun and respect of each other while playing any sports, is the most
important thing. Playing is to enjoy, so we play because we want to enjoy the game and win
at the same time. Enjoyment brings fun and the equivalent of it is your willingness to win
against your opponent.

What can you say about the statement “prevention is better than cure”? With the risk
of playing non-traditional games would you still recommend it? Why or Why not?

Answer:
- Yes , It is recommended . Having a proper training and proper stretching can prevent
injuries on the game . Healty lifestyle is one of the best key to perform well and to do task
perfectly . So that to prevent injuries , we have to work on our phisical fitnes , proper training on
skills , proper exercise and healty lifestyle . Most of the injured player haven’t enough training
and proper stretching , so what happens is their muscles cannot move properly towards the
action needed. And another thing is lack of nutrients in the body , players cannot perform well
so it cannot perform good on game. Conditioning is very important before the game , it will help
our entire body to be active and perform well . “ It is better to stop something bad from
happening than it is to deal with it after it has happened “ .

During this COVID19 pandemic, what do you think could be the role of non-traditonal
games in the lives of the students? Do you think these activities are possible at this time? If
yes, how? If no, what are your underlying reasons?

Answer:
-During this pandemic some of all students are using gadgets and Internet or mobile
data , many of then has no idea about non-tradiotioana sports . For me the role of the non-
traditional games in the students is the knowledge and wisdom on how to play this certain
sport. For now they can use internet or mobile data to know how to play a specific non-
traditinal sports , and the basic skills , proper execution , equipment needed and the rules
and regulation in different non-traditional sports. At this time , these activities are not
possible to do or to play in this time of COVID 19 pandemic . Maybe some students can
play it to a perfect place and with the guidance of their parents , but not all students can do
this activities because of the pandemic.

Given the chance to choose the top non-traditional game or sport that you want to
engage in and promote as future physical educator, what it would be and why?

Answer:
- If i given a chance to choose non-traditional sport or game that i can engage and
promote as a physical educator is orienteering. Orienteering can give my students many
benefits, but the biggest attraction is have fun. It is a joy to walk and run through and fields
armed with a compass and a map. It creates a balance between mind and body of my students
mental and physical exertion , and to know how fast they can go and still be able to understand
a certain task around them and execute their route successfully . It also teaches self reliance ,
decision making and think and act under pressure that they can use in diffirent situation in their
life . It increases their physical fitness and cardiovascular capacity by walking , running , hiking
and the enjoyment during the game or the task . It improves also their self- esteem , every time
one gets lost and find their way again, self-worth and self-esteem grows.
