As a student and a young adult who aspires to be future educators of the future

generations, let me ask you some questions that will lead us to what we are going to
tackle in this speech. What sports or active games did you participate in as a youngster
before? Are you aware that participating in sports has advantages for an individual,
especially to children, who are developing physically and mentally? I know some of you
have already a prior knowledge about what sports really are and its advantages.
However, as students and soon teachers, we should have a thorough understanding of
its content, significance, and benefits to people. By that, we will be reminded of how
important the path we are taking as college students nowadays, since it will benefit not
only ourselves but the students we are about to teach in the future.

I'm privileged enough to get the chance to speak about sports today. One thing we all
have in common is that we frequently become exhausted or stressed due to our
monotonous daily routine. The human body is not a machine, thus maintaining its
effectiveness takes effort and time. Our minds frequently grow weary of the same
routine as it occurs every day. It requires refueling, and sports are the best form of
therapy there is. Sports enthusiasts typically report feeling more energized and happier
than the ordinary individuals. An activity requiring physical exertion and skill in which an
individual or a team competes against another or others for entertainment, according to
the Oxford Dictionary, is what sport is. Specifically included as sports are Volleyball,
Basketball, Baseball, Track and Field etc. However, if we will concentrate on the
previously mentioned definition of sports as "competition" of different teams, numerous
games will not be recognized as sports and will only be eligible as leisure activities. This
is why sports can be both defined as for competitions as well as for entertainment.

As has been stated, sports play a vital role in the development of an individual’s mental
and physical growth. It helps us develop our personalities, increase our self-assurance,
and keep our mental and physical well-being in balance. One of the beneficial effects of
someone who is engaged in sports is that her/his blood flow is increased, her
concentration and critical thinking ability are improved. That is why someone who is
athletic or into sports is effective when it comes to decision making, since their thoughts
and decisions are rational. Moreover, sports and activities keep our bodies relaxed and
our minds free of stress while also teaching us how to deal with and overcome
challenging life circumstances. To add, building a child’s stamina can be done through
playing sports games such as swimming, marathon running, and crickets. These
continuously improve a person's physical endurance since they include a lot of running
or other physical activity. Another, it has been observed that students lack participation
in sports or any physical activities resulting in health problems and laziness that
somehow affects their academic performance in school. In young adults on the other
hand, it results in being ineffective and inefficient in their professions, field, and
jobs. One of the ideas we can conclude from this is that our daily routine or lifestyle lacks
involvement in sports. Moreover, an individual becomes more capable of a high level of
efficiency through these sports and games activities. Additionally, it relieves mental
fatigue and increases our capacity for any challenging work. Without the inclusion of
sports and games, education is now regarded as being lacking.

Now, we’re in the most crucial stage of this talk which is acknowledging the importance
of sports in the life not only of the developing children but also of every individual in this
generation. It is necessary to acknowledge the value of sports and to enhance the
amount of time spent playing them. It is desirable for a community to have a playing
ground for our youth to maintain their fit and healthy selves. According to the research
conducted by professionals, participating in sports indeed lessens stress while
enhancing team-building skills. It aids in boosting blood flow and keeps health issues in
check. Eliminating tiredness also contributes to maintaining the balance between work
and personal life. Participating in sports or games can also boost happiness. As a future
educator, it is important to instill in my mind the importance of this since this is the
knowledge and wisdom I will pass onto the next generation. If a child practices the sport
or game frequently from an early age, she/he has a chance of becoming a well-known
national or international sports personality. Children should take part in every sporting
event held at their schools and universities because it will help them overcome their
hesitation and inspire them to succeed in life.

After everything that has been said, the main gist of this speech is how important the
involvement of everyone, especially children and students, in sports or any physical
activities. As someone who’s taking a degree that will inspire little minds in the future, it
is necessary to understand thoroughly this very common yet very crucial word “sports”
since it can bring significant changes to the lives of everybody. May we be reminded
how significant it is to allow and encourage our students and children to participate in
sports for better health, physical development, and encouragement to pursue a
profession in sports. Therefore, I encourage everyone who hears this to be physically
active, no matter how hard you work or how long you work, to increase productivity and
decrease lethargy. Thank you.
