AAHRMEI

AAHRMEI Returns to its humble beginning when a group of 22 deans and

faculty members met to establish what is now composed of more than 3,470+
strong members, individuals and institutions.

Twenty years ago, Mrs. Sylvia S. Ama, the Director of Hotel, Restaurant and
Institutional Management at DLSU-Saint Benilde College, conceived of the
importance of an organization to address hotel and restaurant management
concerns and other related courses.

In February 2001, when Dr. Gloria Baken Wong-Siy was invited to join the trip
to Singapore to assess the success of a 3rd training partner along with Dr.
Amelia A. Biglete, CHED-NCR Director, who was pleased with the impact of the
training abroad, this concept came into reality.

VISION AND MISSION

The (AAHRMEI) Association of Administrators in the Hospitality, Hotel, and

Restaurant Management Educational Institutions is envisioned to be an
outstanding organization serving as a vehicle for all schools offering Hotel and
Restaurant Management, Tourism, Food Technology, Home Economics,
Nutrition, and such other related programs in the quest for leadership
excellence among academicians and practitioners towards quality education for
all stakeholders.

GOALS

 Establish linkages among different schools nationwide for the

advancement of quality and relevant education.
 Initiate programs and activities that are necessary for the total
development of administrators, faculty members, practitioners, and
students.
 Prepare faculty members and prospective practitioners for leadership
skills and competencies.
 Assist government agencies, particularly the Commission on Higher
Education, Department of Tourism, and the Technical Education Skills
Development Authority in the implementation of programs and
guidelines affecting the hospitality education and industry.
 Develop camaraderie among administrators, faculty members, and
industry practitioners for a healthy learning-sharing relationship.
