Learning Task 1:

A.

1. Contour System
2. Square System
3. Quincunx System
4. Triangular System
5. Rectangular System
B.

The layout of a farm must be thought out carefully because it will help farm activities
to be done in a strategic and systematic way. Layouts should always be harmonious
with the landscape, the processes in the farm, the resources, and the living things
that will inhabit the farm.
Grouping things that have similar needs or are part of a process together will save
time. This eliminates the time and resources wasted by going back and forth in long
distances to finish a task. Water and energy sources, and sometimes even
communication lines, should be included in the layout because a farm cannot do
without these.
The agricultural and animal products and by-products should also be considered.
Some products need to be processed or preserved right away to prevent
spoilage which means processing plants or refrigeration should be somewhere near
and easily accessed. By-products such as manure from animals or husks and stalks
from the harvest are usually made into compost so a compost heap or an organic
waste disposal system must be included in the layout.
