SUMMARY

Samantha Vera is a popular girl, beautiful and kind. She grew up in a wealthy
family and they own a huge company. Her Father is a politician while her mother was a
well-known model. Samantha has a step sister named Naomi, her sister disliked her
and was envious of her because Samantha seemed to have a better lifestyle than her.

One night, Sam and her family were invited by the owners of the Ramirez Medical
for their son, Clyden Ramirez’s, graduation party. The medical student her parents
obligated her to marry. Sam already knew that their parents arranged them for marriage,
and of course she hated this idea. Nonetheless, she can’t do anything but to follow her
parents’ orders as a sign of her respect and love for them.
Samantha and Clyden's relationship can be comparable to a cat fighting a dog.
But time passed and they eventually became close—lovers in fact. It was unusual to
Samantha to commit, since she only engage in non-serious relationships. And to be
committed to Clyden is like a fresh air in the morning.

People may think that Samantha's life is like a diamond—glimmering, shining

and strong. However, it was so much different to Samantha who is facing the hardships
of life.

Samantha was so close to giving up, her family was suffocating her. They are
treating her as if she was a puppet on a circus, who's only job is to amuse its audience.
She can swallow the insults she receives from her parents but it was snapped when she
found out that her parents are mistreating, Naomi.

Samantha stood up for herself, claiming her independence by forcefully

removing the tight grip from her parents. But she felt like her life fell apart when she
found out that her sister has committed the most unimaginable thing she could’ve ever
done. Her sister committed suicide, claiming that she wants to become a star. Her
beloved sister was the one who encouraged her to pursue modelling, as to why her
sister’s death has deeply affected her.

It was hard. The trials she has experienced was hard. But it made Samantha
who she is. She decided to reach for her dreams along with determination and spirit to
face the upcoming battles of her life. She and Clyden, once again came back together
after they have reached their goals in life and Samantha couldn't be more happier.

ANALYSIS

The story's use of symbolism is evident through the goals of Samantha's

achievements, She became an International Super Model and a business woman, on
her own hard work. Being independent made Samantha realize lots of things, including
loving and accepting herself, embracing her flaws and using it to become a successful
woman.
Prior to her becoming successful and independent, she faced a lot of hardships.
Her sister, Naomi, committed suicide; Her and her supposed to be husband’s
relationship started to fall apart; Her family faced a huge scandal that ruined their
reputation. Hence, Samantha used this as an inspiration to keep on moving forward and
strive for success.

Samantha's experience could bring inspiration to us women to be motivated and

empowered. Whatever trials and hardships that the world may bring to us this may
serve as an inspiration to embrace ourselves. Be empowered!
