By Air: Tuguegarao Airport - are served by domestic flights from Manila. Tuguegarao is the
main point of entry by plane.

ATTRACTION AND ACTIVIES :


Batanes - Marlboro Hills Perhaps the most photographed tourist spot in Batanes is the
Rakuh a Payaman, affectionately called Marlboro Hills in Mahatao. The hills are vast
pastureland dotted with grazing cows, carabaos, and horses. It offers a perfect view of
where land, sea, and sky meet in harmony.

Cagayan Valley - Palaui Island is one of the emerging tourist spots in Cagayan valley.
Located off the coast of mainland Luzon, this rustic paradise offers an experience of a
lifetime, especially for nature lovers and adventurers.

Isabela - Bonsai Forest is an enchanting beauty to behold. It covers more than 5000
hectares with plants ranging from one foot to 7 feet. The forest also hosts a plethora of
flora and fauna species. It is one of the most pristine Isabela tourist attractions.

Nueva Viscaya - Imugan Falls is one of the most popular tourist spots in Nueva Vizcaya due
to its accessibility. It only requires an easy trek across pristine forests. The waterfall
cascades for more than 35 feet towards a beautiful catchbasin.

Quirino - Governor’s Rapids this rising tourist spot in Quirino province is a real outdoor
adventure. A tour at Governor’s Rapids is perfect during the summer. Its sparkling emerald
water is inviting, while the stunning rock formations alongside make an ideal backdrop to
your mandatory souvenir photographs.

RANGE OF ACCOMMODATION:

FOOD AND DELICACIES:


Pancit Batil Patong is a traditional type of Filipino pancit originating from Tuguegarao City in
Cagayan. The dish consists of two main elements – noodles with toppings, and a sauce also
unique in that it features miki noodles with ground carabao beef or cara-beef, fried egg and
other toppings, as well as a serving of egg drop soup called kaldo, hence the words patung
(topping) and batil (to beat) in its name.

FESTIVALS AND SPECIAL EVENTS :


Batanes - Ivatan Festival (June 19 - July 1) previously called payuhaan festival, it features
the unique practice in Batanes of voluntary working for others as one community.

Cagayan - Aggao Nac Cagayan (June 23-29) celebration of the establishment of the
province in 1583.

Isabela - Gawagawayan Festival (April 10-13) a thanks giving celebration for the bountiful
harvest in the city of Cauayan; also features the ethno-linguistics groups residing in the city.

MAJOR CULTURAL GROUPS:
There are four major cultural groups in the Cagayan Region these are the Ivatans, Ibanag,
Itawes, and Ilocano. Ivatans possessed unique skills to be resilient with weather conditions
of typhoon and drought in Batanes. The Ibanag means “people of the river” , as they are the
people who settled along banks of the Cagayan River and the northern coasts of Luzon. The
Itawes means people from across the river. The Ilocanos make up the 3rd largest
ethnolinguistic group in the Philippines and is the most prominent ethnic group in the
Philippines.

MAJOR INDUSTRIES:
The main crops are rice, corn and tobacco. Fishing is prevalent in the coast of Cagayan,
Isabela, Batanes and Magat Dam in Isabela.

LANGUAGE AND DIALECT SPOKEN:


Language and dialect spoken in the region include Tagalog, English, Ivatan, Ichbayaten,
Ilokano, Ibanag, Itawis, Gaddang, and Isinay.
