GROWTH – physical maturation


DEVELOPMENT – physiological maturation
- Refers to changes I intellectual, mental and
emotional skills that occur overtime

BIOLOGICAL
 biopedal primates belonging to the mammalian species
 we deal with highly developed brain capable of abstract
reasoning, language and introspection
 we should focus on health – state of health and nutrition,
genetics and natural physical endowment at birth, biological
growth and development as well as any deviation from social
functioning including illnesses and physical disabilities

PSYCHOLOGICAL
 individual’s personality, commonly termed as “inner states”
3 aspects are:
a. cognitive (perpetual or intellectual)
b. emotional (feelings)
c. conative (striving, tendency to do actively or purposefully)

SOCIAL
 societal – aggregiate and social pattern which create the social
climate in which we live regardless with people are aware or
accept them.
INSTITUTIONAL – organizational arrangement in society
STATUS – characteristics of persons and their position in
society
NORMATIVE – form in which social behavior are expressed
and the social roles
INTERACTIVE – the type of interaction and perception of
interaction made of self & others that are base of behavior.

HUAMAN BEHAVIOR CAN BE GROUP TO:


Biological/Psycho-social – internal (nature)
Social Cultural – external (nurture) factors between the
individual and the environment

SPIRITUAL AND MORAL


 focuses on personal insights, values, meanings and purpose.
