Task 3 Part One:

Rosemary had legal right to receive support in expressing her needs and preference, to life
and prevention from intentional death, to have privacy with her family. Her personal right
was that she could make her own choice after knowing her health condition and decided to
move to her daughter’s house to receive health care.

Factors that can potentially affect her right and ability to make decision develops in situation
where she looks vulnerable and unable to make decision that may be of her best interest.
Rosemary is above 70 years and after being informed of the diagnosis of her health condition
coupled with the deterioration of her health which has made her vulnerable could have
affected her choices or decision process. In that case, factors such as lacking mental capacity;
where she considered herself a burden to Winsome her daughter because she is unable to
make simple decision to do things for herself daily and that her daughter who could be
looking after her also has her own children to care for, made her reason why she will not want
to be alive anymore. Provision of a care provider that will safeguard and not abuse her would
protect her from harm and from behaviour that could cause severe consequences. Service
provider will look at ways she can be assisted, look at the situation and decide what measures
to be put in place.  The very factor that she is vulnerable means Interventions should be aimed
at making her life easier, such as providing mobility aids, and empowered to be able to feel
confident in the care being provided for her and been encouraged to express her needs at any
point in time needed and not feel like a liability or burden that had made her thought of
ending her life.
