field placement. A visit to the clearance office with all original documents is also required.

Learning Outcomes Assessed:

 L.O. # 5 - Plan, organize, and complete essential field placement requirements and documentation (e.g.,
Medical, Police Reference Check, Standard First Aid/CPR) in order to be cleared to start Field Practicum 1.

Description:
 This assignment is to prepare you to achieve clearance for entry into ECE 130 Field Practicum 1. In order to meet
all requirements as a student in an Early Childhood Education diploma program, you will follow the direction of
legislation and policies in Ontario.

Requirements:
 As you were already informed in your Welcome Letter and information package, you will be completing both
mandatory non-medical and medical requirements. You will complete the requirements on your own time as
well as having them tracked during class time. Attendance in class is vital to your success in obtaining clearance
in time for Field Practicum 1. A co-op work permit is required for International students. You will also complete
the 5 Module requirements prior to receiving information about your placement site. At the conclusion of the
course you will write a reflection on how you approached the process of meeting the requirements essential to
be qualified to enter practicum.

1. Identify and discuss two strengths you relied on to help you meet the clearance requirements for Field Practicum 1.
For each strength listed, please provide a corresponding relevant example to illustrate your thinking. 3 marks
Flexibility is one of the strengths I relied on in Field practicum 1. I was willing to try fresh ways to challenge and
experiment with various techniques to achieve the desired outcomes. This enabled me to be adaptable and
imaginative at work, which was helpful when collaborating with new individuals and confronting novel
circumstances. For example, I could spend the afternoon with the students in a free class as they learn. Creativity
was the other strength I employed at the Field practicum Fieldis enabled me to come up with creative ways of doing
things in case of any challenge. For example, at the Field practicum, I came up with an innovative model that I drew
on a chart that aided the children in developing an understanding of who they were and how they were developing.

2. Identify and discuss one opportunity for growth (or need) that adversely impacted your ability to meet one or more
clearance requirements for Field Practicum 1. What 2 or 3 strategies will you use to resolve this need to ensure that
you complete all requirements by the end of the semester. 3 marks
The opportunity for growth that impacted my ability to meet field practicum requirements is the urge for improved
work output. I was devoted to the field practicum and put in more effort to ensure advancement prospects. one of
the strategies I will employ is time management. By managing my time, I will accomplish my goals and meet all the
duties assigned by the human resource at the field practicum. I have to concentrate on my work goals using all my
free time. Another strategy is cultivating a positive relationship with my employees and colleagues at the field
practicum. This will help me accomplish my goals since I can have a smooth interaction with the case instructors I
need any help.

I experienced social growth during the field practicum. I developed improved communication skills and collaborative
teamwork. I was engaged in developing my ability to be a good listener and speaker. For example, at the field
practicum, I interacted with many people that worked in various departments and made friends.

2. What two strengths will you bring to Field Practicum 1 to help make it a positive placement experience? In what
ways will these strengths help ensure your ultimate success? For each strength listed, please provide a relevant

Adaptability: I can swiftly adapt to new settings and circumstances and am willing to try different problem-
solving methods. I will also bring effective Communication: I can successfully explain my ideas, emotions, and
feelings in a way that others comprehend. I am an eloquent speaker.
These abilities will enable me to demonstrate the ability to any modifications to my surroundings and to work
cooperatively with my team and coworkers, which will ultimately ensure my accomplishment in Field Practicum
Fieldis will enable me to effectively finish jobs and initiatives in a timely way, while also guaranteeing that

 everyone involved is happy with what they have accomplished. Building relationships with customers and other
stakeholders and troubleshooting any potential problems that may come up during the practicum will both be
aided by my capacity for effective communication. These skills will ultimately enable me to get the most out of
my field practicum and guarantee that I am effective in accomplishing my objectives.
