• Why: The webinar was held to follow this year’s theme for International

Women’s Day on the 8th of March, “DigitALL: Innovation and Technology

for Gender Equality”. The webinar came with the challenge for participants

to take part in creating a society that promotes and builds up gender

communities, and one that brings gender biases and abuse to

awareness.
• How: In order to support the protection of women's rights and welfare, this

webinar aims to raise awareness of the different contributions and roles

women play in offering healing and hope to abused women, especially

children, during pandemics. Additionally, it attempts to educate students

on diverse gender and women's rights issues in order to promote student

involvement in efforts to empower women, particularly in leading and

equality of the sexes. Following the webinar, participants are required to

produce an advocacy film with catchy taglines that highlight the important

takeaways. a.) formally advocate and educate the student about women’s

rights and give protection to those in need. b.) honoring women's

accomplishments and roles in society while bringing attention to the fight

for gender equality. c.) broaden their perspective on women of

compassion and innovation through service in the community.

The Lasallian Community Development Center of De La Salle University

Dasmarinas held a collaborative webinar along with the Senior High School of

DLSU-D titled “She Talks: Women of Compassion Through Innovation and

Service Webinar” held on MS Teams last 11th of March, 2023 from 10:00 AM to

12:00NN. In line with the celebration of “Women’s Role In History” in the month

of March, the webinar aimed to highlight the contribution of women as well as the

parts they play in aiding women and children who are victims of abuse by

providing them with hope and healing and recognizing their efforts to promote the

protection of women’s rights and wellbeing in the midst of the pandemic.

Furthermore, the webinar also intended to encourage students to participate in

the notion of women's empowerment by bringing up various rights of women and

gender advocacies, especially leadership and gender equality. Ms. Rhodora B.


Sajor and Ms. Ma. Diana Bianca Silva were invited as resource speakers for their

input on how students can get involved in addressing the problem of abuse in

women and children through technology. The recording of the webinar was made

available on LCDC’s Facebook page.
