VI. RATIONALE

Socrates, Plato and Rene Descartes are the world greatest philosophers
whose philosophies are used up to the present. These philosophers existed in
different period of time.
Socrates, an ancient Greek philosopher had most of his teachings and
philosophies were recorded by writers after his death which included his
students Plato and Xenophon.

Moreover, Plato was a Greek philosopher from classical period and the
founder of Platonic school of thought.

On the other hand, Rene Descartes, is a French Mathematician and


philosopher known for his philosophical statement, “I think, therefore I am”
(originally in French, but best known by its Latin translation: "Cogito, ergo
sum”). He is also attributed with developing Cartesian dualism.
