To whom it may concern:

I read on the university's website that you are recruiting advice about students needing assistance
about what they should do when they first move to college.

Firstly, I would like to mention that when I first went abroad, the very first thing I did was to get
used to what surrounds you. Living in a new city might be tough at the beginning, but after you
travel around, you will eventually start recognizing the environment.

Secondly, when you move to a new college which is outside your home town, you will then have to
look for an accommodation. If your college is in the city, it might be very expensive to rent a
flat/house by yourself, which consequently, having friends around you or knowing someone that
you know that is looking for a place to stay, you should then take the step to plan into moving with
that person. However, making friends at college might not be easy for everyone, especially being
new. My advice in this situation would be to move outside the city or places where the cost of living
is not too expensive and it also has a good location for transport.

Finally, I would appreciate that the school's website included a 'study department', where people can
share places to concentrate around the campus while they are doing assignments. Consequently, this
will lead to students sharing a good study environment and it will also benefit the local community.

Best wishes.

Ana.
