The aim is to get you to try new things
that you’ve never tried before, maybe
learn a new skill and meet other students.
All activities are aimed at beginner level
so why not come along and ‘Give it a Go’.

This short course covers all the
essential skills for dealing with the
following:
• Unconscious casualty who is
breathing
• A casualty who is not breathing
normally
Course objective
This course provides the opportunity
for students to gain the skills and
confidence to provide casualty care in
an emergency situation whilst waiting
for the arrival of the emergency
services.
What you`ll learn:
• Provide casualty care for the
unconscious casualty
• Active role play providing
cardiopulmonary resuscitation
(CPR) for a casualty who is not
breathing
CERTIFICATION
Students are assessed whilst in
attendance and will receive a
certificate of competence upon
successful completion of the course.

Course objective
This course provides the opportunity for
students to gain the skills and confidence
to provide casualty care in an emergency
situation whilst waiting for the arrival of
the emergency services.

• Active role play providing
cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)

We are looking for volunteers to help
inform community and youth network
leaders across Bradford about the variety
of opportunities available at the museum.
Community and Youth Ambassadors will
have the responsibility to share insights,
experience and knowledge of the museum,
and encourage guests to visit part of the
scheme. You will be expected to attend
monthly meetings, and will be informed
about important news, events and
developments that relate to the museum’s
cultural programme. The scheme will also
include personal development opportunities
allowing local people to meet museum
staff and find out more about how the
museum works.
This is a great opportunity to develop key
employment skills and gain an insight into
working in the museums sector.

& Rescue Service
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service serves all of the people of West Yorkshire. As well as our
response role, we also carry out vital fire prevention work by educating the public.
For us key employability skills include:
•• Self-discipline and self-motivation, e.g. being on time, listening to instructions and carrying out
self-directed learning where required.
•• Social skills, e.g. being able to communicate with people from all backgrounds in order to
educate the community on the dangers of fire and hazards.

“The Networking Society is for students interested in Networking and Server
technologies. They have their own lab room in the Old Building which they use
to work on solo projects and collaborate with other members using their own
equipment, funded by yearly memberships and the Student Union. They also have
