Company Name: “SAFADECO” or Salvacion Farmers Development Cooperative

What the company does, and offers: SAFADECO offers are; the saving and credit, loan products, copra
trading, Safadeco Mart, and one of the best service that SAFADECO offers is a free training or enhancing
training not only for the officers or staffs but also for the members for them to become financially
independent in time. SAFADECO also offers Micro insurance to help the members learn how to save
money for their future and teach the members how to use the money they lend for their business to
grow.

The Company that we choose is SAFADECO. SAFADECO stands for Salvacion Farmers Development
Cooperative. Who already had 9 branches in Bicol, 5 coop marts, and with more than 100 employees that
serve thousands of members. The SAFADECO chief of executive is Atty. Jessica Samatha Dob-Acleta and
their main office is located at Bitan-o Sorsogon City. Based on our research SAFADECO before is not so
popular because it only covers 4 barangays which are Salvacion, San Isidro, Buenavista and Pandayan.
SAFADECO was originally an association before and because of a group of people they became a
cooperative way back in 2001 with the help and assistance of DAR and NATCO. In short the type of
company of SAFADECO is a Cooperative.

The types of services that SAFADECO offers are the saving and credit, loan products, copra trading,
SAFADECO mart, and one of the best service that SAFADECO offers is a free training or enhancing training
not only for the officers or staffs but also for the members for them to become financially independent in
time. SAFADECO also offers Micro insurance to help the members learn how to save money for their future
and teach the members how to use the money they lend for their business to grow. Since SAFADECO is a
cooperative they do not have tax. That's why in return they are implementing corporate social
responsibilities. One of the corporate social responsibilities that SAFADECO provides is tree planting that
aims to raise awareness of the importance of planting trees and to express their concern to the
environment. They also implement feeding programs in different barangays in Sorsogon in the midst of
pandemic. The purpose of their activity is to promote food security and improve the nutritional status of
the children by providing nutritious meals in the community. SAFADECO also held a medical mission for
health awareness in different barangays in Sorsogon. Our target schedule for the visit of the SAFADECO
office is on November 23, 2022.
