Anas b. Malik reported that Gabriel came to the Messenger of Allah (‫ )ﷺ‬while he was playing with his
playmates. He took hold of him and lay him prostrate on the ground and tore open his breast and took
out the heart from it and then extracted a blood-clot out of it and said: That was the part of Satan in
thee. And then he washed it with the water of Zamzam in a golden basin and then it was joined
together and restored to it place. The boys came running to his mother, i. e. his nurse, and said: Verily
Muhammad has been murdered. They all rushed toward him (and found him all right) His color was
changed, Anas said. I myself saw the marks of needle on his breast.

Abdullah b. Mas'ud reported that Allah's Messenger (‫ )ﷺ‬said: There is none amongst you with whom
is not an attache from amongst the jinn (devil). They (the Companions) said: Allah's Messenger,
with you too? Thereupon he said: Yes, but Allah helps me against him and so I am safe from his
hand and he does not command me but for good.

And Satan will say when the matter has been concluded, "Indeed, Allah had promised you the promise
of truth. And I promised you, but I betrayed you. But I had no authority over you except that I invited you,
and you responded to me. So do not blame me; but blame yourselves. I cannot be called to your aid,
nor can you be called to my aid. Indeed, I deny your association of me [with Allah] before. Indeed, for
the wrongdoers is a painful punishment."

‫يس‬ ٌّ ُ َ ْ ُ َ َُ َ ٰ َْ َ ْ ُ ُْ َ َ َ َ َ َ ‫ََْ َ ْ َ ْ َْ ُ ْ ََٰ ا‬

‫ألم أعهد إِِكم يـب ِن ءادم أن ل تعبدوا ٱلشيطـن ۖ إِنهۥ لكم عدو مبِن‬
36,60
Did I not command you, O Children of Adam, not to follow Satan, for he is
truly your sworn enemy
Seek Protection & Refuge from Allah

َ َ ُ َ َ ْ َْ َ َْ ٰ َْ َ َ َ ََ َ َ َ
‫العراف‬ ‫ِإَوما يزنغنك مِن ٱلشيطـ ِن نزغ اٱست ِعذ بِٱّللِ ۚ إِنهۥ س ِميع علِيم‬
7, 200
If you are tempted by Satan, then seek refuge with Allah. Surely He is All-Hearing, All-Knowing

‫يم‬
ِ ‫ج‬ َ ٰ َ َ َ ْ َ
‫انلحل‬ ِ ‫اإِذا قرأت ٱلقرءان اٱستعِذ بِٱّللِ مِن ٱلشيطـ ِن ٱلر‬
16,98 When you recite the Quran, seek refuge with Allah from Satan, the accursed

‫ون‬
ِ ‫ب أن َيُض‬ ِ ‫وأعوذ بِك ر‬ ِ ‫ت ٱلشيـ ِط‬
ِ ‫ب أعوذ بِك مِن همز‬ِ ‫ر‬
‫الموءمنون‬ And I seek refuge in You, my Lord, that
they even come near me
My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the distractions of
the devils
23,97-98
Reunited with Aminah
 Halimah sent him back to Aminah at age 4 (shortly after Incident of cleansing his heart)

 At age 6, Aminah took Muhammad (‫)ﷺ‬, with Abdul Muttalib and her servant Ummu Aiman to visit

Abdullah Ibn Abdul Muttalib’s grave

 Stayed in Yathrib for approx. 1 month

 On return journey, Aminah fell seriously ill and passed away.

 She was buried in Abwa

‫ِع وأْحد ِإَوسحاق ‪.‬‬ ‫َع هذا عِند أه ِل العِل ِم ل يرون ب ِ ِزيارة ِ القبورِ بأسا ‪ .‬وهو قول اب ِن المباركِ والشاا ِ ِ‬
‫‪Sulaiman bin Buraidah narrated from his father that: The Messenger of Allah said: "I had‬‬
‫‪prohibited you from visiting the graves. But Muhammad was permitted to visit the grave of his‬‬
‫"‪mother: so visit them, for they will remind you of the Hereafter.‬‬

About women visiting graves

It was narrated from ‘Abdur-Rahman bin Hassan bin Thabit that his father said: “The Messenger of Allah (‫)ﷺ‬
cursed women who visit graves.”

Narrated Anas bin Malik: The Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬passed by a woman who was weeping beside a grave. He told her to fear
Allah and be patient. She said to him, "Go away, for you have not been afflicted with a calamity like mine." And she
did not recognize him. Then she was informed that he was the Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬. so she went to the house of the
Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬and there she did not find any guard. Then she said to him, "I did not recognize you." He said, "Verily,
the patience is at the first stroke of a calamity."

Under care of beloved Grandfather
 Only spent 2 years with Aminah before she passed away

 Since age 6 Muhammad (‫ )ﷺ‬was completely orphaned (Anak Yatim Piatu)*

 Abdul Muttalib took care of Muhammad (‫ )ﷺ‬and gave him very good treatment

 Ony Muhammad (‫ )ﷺ‬was allowed to sit on his platform (adjacent to Kaabah and like a throne). Abdul
Muttalib said: “Leave him. One day he will hold a significant position”

 Incident of lost camels – Uncles asked him to Muhammad (‫ )ﷺ‬to find a few lost camels in the desert.
When Abdul Muttalib found out he was furious and anxious. When Muhammad (‫ )ﷺ‬returned, Abd
Muttalib hugged him tight and said “Henceforth I shall never leave you out of my sight”

 When Muhammad (‫ )ﷺ‬was 8 years old, Abdul Muttalib passed away. But he entrusted Muhammad (‫ )ﷺ‬to
his son Abu Talib (full brother to Abdullah)

Some positive benefits of being Orphaned
 Allah was preparing Muhammad (‫ )ﷺ‬for his daunting task

 More resilient and better prepared for hardships later on

 Appreciate the difficulties of the orphans – many hadeeth about looking after

orphans and how rewarding this is

 Appreciate the struggle of the needy and poor

 Eloquence as a result of staying with Halimah

Just like Musa AS, Allah prepared Muhammad (‫)ﷺ‬

Put him into a chest, then put it into the river. The river will wash it ashore, and he will be taken by
˹Pharaoh,˺ an enemy of Mine and his.’ And I blessed you with lovability from Me1 ˹O Moses˺ so that you

‫طه‬ ‫وٱصطنعتك نلِ ف َِس‬
20, 41
And I have selected you for My service

‫ف رِضاك‪ ,‬ول تو ِنلا و ِِا ِسواك‪ ,‬ول‬ ‫ٱللهم اه ِدنا بِهداك‪ ,‬واجعلنا مِمن يسارِع ِ‬

‫َتعلنا مِمن خالف أمرك وعصاك‪ ,‬وحسبنا ٱّلل ون ِعم الوك ِيل‪,‬‬
‫حبهِ َو َس َلمَ‬ ‫آَّلِ َو َص ْ‬ ‫َ َ َ َُ ََ َ َ ََُ َ َ‬ ‫َ‬ ‫َ َْ ْ‬ ‫َ‬
‫ِ‬ ‫َّل الع ِظي ِم‪ ,‬وصَّل ٱّلل َع سي ِ ِدنا ُمم ٍد وَع ِ‬ ‫إِل بِاّللِ الع ِِ‬
Meaning of Closing Doa

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Compassionate

Our Lord Benefit Us with the knowledge you have taught us * Our Lord teach us what is beneficial for us * Our
Lord grant us, our families and our relatives firm understanding of our religion. Together with the people of
our Nation be they female or male.

Our Lord, grant us and them success in what pleases you be it speech or action that is noble. And give us
sustenance that is Halal and blessed always. Grant us companions who are pious and knowledgeable. So that
we will be safe and continue to do good and abstain from evil.

O Lord, straighten all our affairs; gladden our eyes with Your Satisfaction, O Lord, settle all our debts, before
the messengers of death come to us, Forgive us and cover our weaknesses; You are the Noblest of those who
cover faults.

May Allāh’s Blessings be on the Chosen One, who calls to the truth and devotion in a book which contains
cure for mankind. And Blessings upon his honourable family, and noble and radiant Companions.

O Allāh! Guide us with Your Guidance and make us of those who hasten to Your Pleasure, do not appoint
over us a protector other than You, and do not make us of those who oppose Your Command and disobey
You;

Allah is sufficient for us and he is the best helper. There is no power and no strength except with Allah the
most High and the most Supreme. And may Blessings and Peace be upon our master Muḥammad, his family
and Companions;
