» The airplane was created in 1903 by the Wright
brothers. This invention revolutionized the
travel and business industry. Goods, services,
and people could be brought long distances in
a matter of hours.
» Created by Alexander Gram Bell, the telephone was one
of the most important and most useful invention of the
20th century. The device let people communicate
instantly over long distances. A letter took days to arrive
and receive, with the telephone people could have
conversation without ever seeing each other.
» In the 1950s computers were giant and had little
processing power. The invention of the microchip
changed all of that, the metallic structure of the
microchip made computer much faster, and the size of
the chip meant that computers could be shrunk. By the
1980s computers were small enough to fit on a desk.
» The atom bomb was a bomb that harnessed the
power of a splitting atom and could obliterate
entire cities. The bomb was created during
WWII and was used to destroy two Japanese
cities, and it killed over 100,000 people.-
» In the 20th century movies also got an upgrade.
Videos that were record could be record with
sound, these were called talkie films. These
films revolutionized the movie and
entertainment industry.
» I chose these advancements because they were
important advancements. I put them in this order
due to their importance. The airplane made
traveling a lot easier, and the telephone made
communication easier. The microchip made
computer faster and smaller, and the atom bomb
set a new catoegory for warfare. The talkie films
are last because even though they were a big
advancement they didn’t change people’s entire
perspective on life like the others.
