Meeting family Flying the friendly skies is more than just an airline slogan, as
senior IT project manager Kumar Sundaram discovered:

at 37,000 feet "While returning to Singapore a few months ago, as compared

to earlier in the year, the flight was fully packed. As I settled in, I
noticed the seats both adjacent to me and behind were occupied
by a group of young lads travelling to Australia. They were chatting
with each other when I overheard the word 'ship'.
"My ears pricked up and I asked the person next to me, 'Joining
ship?' 'Yes,' he replied. My next question was, 'Which company?' To
my utter delight he responded, 'Anglo-Eastern.' And that was it. In a
few minutes, we were all like old friends meeting after many years.
A family was born at 37,000 feet.
"It was amazing to see how the camaraderie, bonding,
and sense of belonging to the same company joined us all

seafarers who bond both on land and at sea, and even in the air!"

A first time for everything

Late at night on September 1st, the crew of MV London

engine failure, necessitating a rescue close enough to the boat to pass
