Subject: SOPs for Waste Disposal

This is to certify that we observe following SOPs for waste disposal;

i) We have a valid contract with waste disposal agency (AT Waste Company) for final disposal of
infectious material.

ii) We use separate waste containers for infectious and non-infectious waste materials.

iii) Infectious material is stored in yellow area well separated from the lab working area in a large yellow
tank.

iv) Boxes are available for transport of sharps containers.

v) Packaged Medical waste is properly sealed

vi) We maintain a infectious file register in laboratory and collection area.

vii)All waste bags/containers comply with the local Standards.

viii) All clinical waste bins used are foot operated, with a correctly fitted lid, and are in good
working order.

ix) All waste bins are visibly clean, both externally and internally.

x) Clinical waste bags/containers are no more than 3/4 full and their usage-type clearly
indicated at source.

xi) There is a dedicated area for the safe storage of clinical (hazardous) waste which is in a
secure room, at the back of the facility, inaccessible to the public.

xii)Infectious liquid waste is disposed-off after de-contamination.
