LACK OF PARKING SPACES

Parking of vehicles is one of the most problematic of transport in both rural and urban areas
in Socorro. Particularly, parking areas for heavy freight vehicles that cause problems
connected with insufficient capacity or inadequate equipment. In the municipality of Socorro
concepts for the location of parking lots for any vehicles have not been developed-rest areas
are built mainly on highways. Drivers are forced into other roads to search for alternative
parking spaces and thus jeopardize the safety of the cargo to be transported because of the
lack of such parking lots.

Lack of parking areas is a major problem in Socorro that needs to develop. Thus, shortage of
the parking spaces and traffic congestion in the streets, especially along the roads in Rizal
area. This is because most vehicles are parked along the sides of the sides of the road. This
further causes disruptions in road traffic, and this is a possible cause of road accidents. There
should be established parking lots for both public and private places. Household that owns a
vehicle or vehicles should have their own parking spaces; so that they won’t park them along
the road. Such behaviour must aim for better, more organized and safer streets.
