SEMI- DETAILED DAILY LESSON PLAN- GRADE 7

TITLE- LOGICAL CONNECTORS

I. Objectives:
At the end of the 45 minutes discussion, the students will be able to:

A. define the word logical connectors


B. appropriate logical connectors in completing a paragraph
C. construct paragraph using logical connectors
D. appreciate the importance of logical connectors in achieving paragraph
cohesion

II. Subject matter:

III. Procedure:
A. Preliminary activities
1. Prayer
The teacher ask to a student’s who to lead the prayer.

2. Drill
After the prayer, everyone is remain to stand for energizer.

3. Review
The teacher will review the topic yesterday about Transitive
verb and Intransitive verb.
 Transitive verb- is a verb that accepts one or
more objects. Example: a noun, phrase, or
pronoun that refers to the person or thing is
reflected by the action of the verb.
 Intransitive verb- in a grammar, an intransitive
verb does not allow a direct object. This is
distinct from transitive verb, which takes one or
more object. The verb property is called
transitivity. Intransitive verbs are often identified
as those that can’t be follow by who or what.

B. Motivational
The teacher will group student’s into 2 groups. The teacher will discuss
his/her motivational activity like the guessing game. Each group will
give his/her best answer to the teacher if the group are correct then
teacher write his/her answer on the board. If the group are incorrect,
the other group will chance to answer to the guessing letter. The group
have many points they will give a highest score.

Group 1
 Is generally defined as a word or a group of words that
expresses a thorough idea by giving a statement/order, or
asking a question, or exclaiming.
Group 2
 rules of a language governing the sounds, words, sentences,
and other elements, as well as their combination and
interpretation.

C. Lesson Proper:
The teacher will introduce the lesson
The teacher will discuss the logical connectors
 Logical connector is a connector which link the semantical unit
of language. Logical connectors are used to join or connect two
ideas that have a particular relationship. These relationships can
be: sequential (time), reason and purpose, adversative
(opposition, contrast and/or unexpected result), condition.
 Focus only on connectors that show CHRONOLOGICAL,
LOGICAL SEQUENCE, AND SUMMATION.
 Examples:
 NUMERICAL- in the first place, first, secondly, initially.
 BEGINNING- at the first, to start with, to begin with, for a
start, fist of all, initially.
 CONTINUATION- previously, after this, afterwards,
eventually, subsequently, before this, next, then.
 CONCLUSION- finally, eventually, at last, in the end, last
but not the least, as a final point, lastly, to conclude.
 SUMMATION- in conclusion, to sum up, to summarize, in
summary, in sum.

D. Activity:
Group Activity
LANGUAGE CONNECTORS
The teacher will group the students into four. Each group will read a
recipe. After reading, they will find out the mistakes in it and correct
them. They need to change the location of the italicized words for them
to correct the whole paragraph.

E. Analysis:
Teacher will ask the following questions.
1. What are the mistakes that you have found in the recipe?
2. How were you able to correct the recipe?
3. Why the language connectors is the title of this activity?

F. Abstraction:
Teacher will discuss what logical connectors are as well as the
example of it
1. Numerical
2. Beginning
3. Continuation
4. Conclusion
5. Summation

G. Application:
Teacher will give an activity to his/her students, and answer the
following questions.
MY RECIPE FOR A PERFECT DIFFERENCE

The students will imagine that they have a friend from another region
who just transferred to our region which is here in Caraga. He/she finds
it to difficult to live here. Your task is to give an advice about he/she
should do in such situation. You will also remind him/her that the key to
harmonious life with others is by setting aside differences. The advice
will be written in a recipe paragraph form using logical connectors.

Questions:
1. Why are logical connectors important in writing paragraphs?
2. What are the connectors that use to paragraph?
3. How a logical order giving a clarity to the paragraph?
IV- Evaluation:
Direction: Students will complete the following paragraph by adding the proper
logical connectors.
Jose and Trexie’s “dream vacation” didn’t go off as planned at all.______, their flight
was delayed unexpectedly. They had to wait for six hours at the airport.
________,during the flight, there was a lot of turbulence and Carol got sick. When
they finally landed, they found that the rental car agency didn’t have a car ready for
them. _______, they were able to rent a car from another company. _________,the
weather was rainy and cold in Tagaytay. They had to spend more money than they’d
planned because everything was so expensive. They were very
disappointed.________, there were many enjoyable moments.

V- Assignment:
In a 1 whole sheet of paper. Write a narrative about the importance by
helping others using logical connectors.
