The Olympic Games have a rich history dating back thousands of years. The ancient Greeks held the first
Olympic Games in 776 BC in Olympia, Greece. The Games were held every four years and were
dedicated to Zeus, the king of the gods.
The ancient Olympic Games featured a variety of events, including running, jumping, wrestling, and
boxing. Athletes from all over Greece would come to compete, and the winners would be crowned with
wreaths of olive leaves.
The ancient Olympic Games continued for nearly 1200 years until they were abolished by the Roman
Emperor Theodosius in
