CONDITIONALS

0 CONDITIONAL
If + Present Simple / Present Simple → If you do sports, you get tired.
USE: when if can be substitute for when.
1ST CONDITIONAL
If + Present Simple / Future simple → If you study hard, you will get good marks.
USE: present situations that are likely to happen.
2ND CONDITIONAL
If + past simple / Conditional simple
If I met a celebrity, I would ask for an autograph.
USE: present situations that are unlike to happen.
3RD CONDITIONAL
If + past perfect / Conditional perfect → If we had brought a map, we wouldn’t have got lost.
IMPOSSIBLE CONDITIONAL Past situations that didn’t happen.
CONTRACTIONS If we’d brought a map… I met a celebrity, I’d ask for…
CONDITIONAL CONJUCTIONS
If Unless = If not → if it doesn’t rain, we will go to the beach.
