B. Essay
Drug abuse of teenagers is a big problem around the world. Taking drugs not only
affect the youth’s health, but also affects their relationships with others. This essay will
further discuss the causes of this issue and give some solutions to solve this problem.
Teens are easily affected by friends since most of them want to be part of a group.
If a teen joins a group that is full of drug users unluckily, there is a high chance that he or
she will be encouraged by others to take drugs. Moreover, it is not difficult for teenagers
to get drugs nowadays especially for those countries that can sell some kinds of drugs
legally. I had heard a case from my mother. One of her friend's son studied aboard in
Canada, where full of teenage drug users. Her son was encouraged by his new friends to
take drugs and he did not refuse as he does not want to lost his only friends in Canada.
Finally, he became a drug user which made his parent very angry and nearly broke their
relationship.
On the other hands, mental problems faced by teenagers is also a reason for them
to take drugs. It is common for youth facing pressure from school or parents, or pressure
from handling relationships with others. One of my friends faced great pressure from her
parents starting from primary school. One day, she found taking medical can make her
feel happy and relax. She fall in love with that kind of feeling and take drugs everyday
even she is not ill.
In conclusion, friends encourage and mental problems are the two main reasons
for why teens have drug abuse. Governments should post more educational
advertisements on the streets and in the internet to teach teenagers damage of drugs.
Hopefully, there will not be any drug abuse in the future.
