SET 1

Part 1:
I had a conversation with my high school history teacher many years ago that I
consider very important. His name is Thinh, and he used to take our history
classes at our high school. One day, I went to his room to submit an assignment,
and then all of a sudden, the conversation started.
The conversation covered many things related to my education, some of the
essential facts of history, and the necessity of learning history in order to shape
the future. I was mainly a listener in the conversation, but sometimes I also
asked questions during the conversation.
He also talked about events that have changed the world and have significant
historical impacts and importance. I felt great enthusiasm about reading history
after the conversation. I started visiting the central library after that day, and
since then, I have read many books I consider to be treasured I found.

with balloons and decorations. My parents greeted me with hugs and wishes.
They secretly prepared the party for me.
On the table, I noticed a package with ribbons. It was a laptop, for which I had
been asking for quite some time. This makes me extremely happy. Since then,
I’ve used the laptop daily, and I use it for many things. That was the best day of

a doctor. Here, I would like to talk about a time when I had to go to the hospital.
I recently visited a hospital because I slipped on my house's stairs and landed on
my right arm and it felt very hurt, so I had to go to the hospital.
I visited the hospital and waited for twenty minutes outside the doctor's
chamber. Finally, I went into the chamber. The doctor checked my body and X-
rayed my arm to see if it was broken. Then, he told me that it was just a small
crack.
After it, he recommended that I not do heavy things with my right arm and not
move too much. He also gave me some medicines.
He told me to visit for a checkup after three weeks. Then, after three weeks, I

SET 4
Part 1:
Today I’d like to tell you about my grandmother, who is a wise person, in my
opinion.
My grandmother is in her early-70s, but she is still pretty energetic for people of
her age.
She has a good sense of humor. Whenever I drop by, she tells me hilarious
stories that make me laugh so hard. I enjoy spending time with her as I feel so
relaxed.
There are two main reasons why my grandmother is a person of wisdom.
Firstly, it is her calmness. She remains calm under any circumstances. I never
see her nervous or confused because of anything.

Set 5
Part 1:
Last year, after the National high school exam, I had the opportunity to visit one
of the most beautiful cities in Vietnam – Da Lat. It is an ideal city to escape
from the rat race.
Da Lat is well-known as the city of love in Viet Nam. The weather here is
completely unique compared with other cities because there are four seasons in
a day. When I arrived there, I visited many places: Pren waterfall, Dambri
waterfall, Langbiang mountain, Xuan Huong lake, the Valley of Love, and so
on. The most special thing about this city is its diversity of flowers. I could see
flowers blooming everywhere in this city. It makes Da Lat more colorful and
beautiful.

SET 6
Part 1:
I live in HCM City, and this city has got several issues related to environmental
pollution. The major environmental pollution that this city has is air pollution
The main reason for this pollution is overpopulation and the city's rapid
industrialization. It is easy to see that a large number of populations will always
cause environmental pollution as they use more cars, consume more energy and
natural resources, and create more waste.
Air pollution is why people suffer from various dangerous diseases, including
lung cancer, asthma, heart disease, etc.
The most important thing to reduce pollution in our city is to create public
awareness. Also, strict laws should be introduced and applied against
environmental pollution, and all illegitimate industries and companies should be
banned.

Part 2:
- Agree:
+ Cause lots of damage to the environment like farmland or the ocean.
+ Affect the human health.

- Disagree:

Part 1:
Something that I am keen on doing in my leisure time to stay healthy is jogging.

I took up this habit about one years ago. At that time, I was up to my ears with
my study to prepare for my graduation examination, so I was stressed out. Then
I thought I needed to do something energetic to release some stress, so I started
jogging.

This sport has helped me a lot in strengthening my physical health as well as my

mental health. Thanks to jogging, I was able to lose my fat belly and get lean.
Also, jogging allows me to unwind and enjoy the fresh air; whenever I go
jogging, my mind is refreshed.

In the future, I will keep doing this to stay healthy and maybe try some other
sports too.

support and suggestions, I have crossed many barriers in my journey to study
English. So, I am really grateful to her. With her guidance, I was able to achieve
this position today.
Mrs. Cuc was our English teacher in the school. She was a great teacher and had
some very effective teaching methods. She explained the boring lessons in a
way that made us interested in the subject and was very easy to understand.
She has influenced my education to a great extent. She inspired me to study
hard and taught me the importance of English as well as the beauty of the
language itself.

language in general, so I will always remember her as a great teacher and
mentor.

SET 9
Part 1:
I’m going to talk about a public holiday celebrated worldwide every year.
It’s the 25th of December, or Christmas Day. Some people might say it’s
not really a public holiday here in Vietnam because they don’t have a day
off, but I think the general public considers it a public holiday for one
reason or another.

Almost everyone knows that Christmas Day is the birthday of Jesus

Christ, the founder of Christianity. But it is celebrated in many countries
by both Christians and non-Christians.

Different people do different things at Christmas. Some stay home with

their family or friends, and others go to church or join social activities
outdoors.

I found Christmas very interesting because it is a great time to experience

the holiday spirit, be together with people you love, and give them gifts
or happy wishes.

Part 2:

+ Traditional ways of living could face the threat of disappearance.
+ Big brands will occupy a significant market share means a big threat to
the traditional skills of local manufacturers => preferred Nike or Gucci
over traditional clothes.

culture.
+ Brought the world closer together.
Set 10
Part 1:
A project as a part of my studies I want to talk about was creating a
product from recycled materials when I was in 11th grade. The product
could be anything from office supplies to domestic appliances.

Luckily, I was allowed to work with a few other classmates of mine.

Otherwise, it would have been tough for me to finish the project on my
own.

We eventually decided that we would make a chessboard from leftover

cardboard and bottle caps. So, we all started collecting bottle caps from
throw-away bottles and drew a chessboard on the cardboard we found in
the trash. We also drew the image of the chess pieces on the bottle caps
that we found.

In the end, we received a pretty good mark for the project. It was a 9 out
of 10.

But the most important thing I have learned is that "teamwork makes the
dream work." you should always listen to your teammates and respect
their opinions and vice versa. In that way, the work will be done more
efficiently, and you and your team will be closer together as a group.

Part 2:
- Agree:
+ The ability to sell products or services is significance in any business
=> this requires strong social skills.
+ Communication is the key to career success in modern days.

- Disagree:
+ One can’t produce great products with social skills. One needs
technical and academic knowledge for that.
+ Have the upper hand in competing for a good job.
