You should say:

• who he or she is
• what he or she always does to help others
• why he or she always helps others
• and explain how you feel about this person.
We live in a world which is full of people with different nature and attitudes.
Some individuals find joy in achieving success, whereas some find bliss in helping
others. Today, I would like to talk about one such person whose life motto is to help
others, especially highland children – her name is Vu Thi Quynh. She has the nickname
Quynh teacher. She is an adorable girl with a warm heart. She graduated in English
pedagogy and now worked at an English teaching center. But after her work hours, she
takes the role of a superhero where her mission is to help as many children as possible.
She is also the creator of group called "The power of 20 thousand". She often
volunteered, helped upland children, and raised orphans. The most interesting thing, she
organizes online game competitions9 to create a playground for everyone, besides the fee
will be contributed to the "Build a school for children" fund. With only 20 thousand
VND, each person also contributed a lot to this volunteer campaign. In December 2022,
she completed a kindergarten for Ha Giang children and fulfilled her wish to help
highland children go to her school. She helps others because she finds joy and happiness
when she is accompanied by children on the way to school, nurturing the future
preschools of the country. I feel so proud of you because you did a great job. I will
always be your big fan.
CARD 2: Describe an outdoor sport you would like to try for the first time.
You should say:

Well! sports are an important part of human’s life. It has a great role to play in the life of
every human being. I like sports and played in my childhood and school time. I belong to
a village and there are ordinary sports to play in a village. But today, I would like to talk
about an outdoor sport which I would like to try for the first time- it’s swimming. I want
to try swimming, which I think will be very helpful for my health. Since childhood, I
often watch sports competitions on TV. I was impressed by the talent of Swimmer
"Nguyen Thi Anh Vien" who is an excellent swimmer of Vietnam, many times won gold
medals in swimming both domestically and internationally. For me, swimming is very
difficult, it requires a lot of knowledge and training. For example, first I need to know
how to get used to floating and breathing underwater. then how to move in the water and
gradually learn the movements to swim. I am someone who gets overwhelmed easily
when in the water for a long time so swimming is quite difficult for me.
I learned about the benefits of swimming and then I discovered that swimming can
improve both flexibility and strength, and can even help develop a positive attitude.
Moreover, swimming can give you a chance to relax and forget about work, problems
and other things. So I really want to learn to swim.
CARD 3: Describe an activity you do to stay healthy.
You should say:
• what you do
• when you started doing it
• how much time you spend doing it

We all believe that says health is more valuable than money. It's always good to lead a
healthy life and stay active. Any physical activity is not a guarantee of a long life but it is
certainly a guarantee of a healthy life. I choose to practice martial arts to stay healthy, and
that's Karate-Do. I started doing in 10th grade and it's been almost 5 years now. To stay
my health, I do karate every day for 1 to 2 hours. After my workout, I would spend 5 to
10 minutes meditating. Therefore, it not only enhances my physical strength but also
improves my mental health. It also keeps me positive and energetic throughout the day.
Besides, I learned many life skills from my karate teacher such as staying calm,
protecting myself in all situations... Now, karate has become an integral part of my life. .
It not only controls my weight but also helps me relieve stress and anxiety. As a regular
exerciser, I have benefited greatly from this physical exercise. It has improved my
immunity and also brought inner peace. Not only have I become healthy, but I have also
become calm and composed. Besides, I also met many new friends with similar interests.
CARD 4: Describe a time you changed your plan.
You should say:
• what the plan was
• why you changed it
• what you did instead
and explain how you felt about changing the plan
Plans are a promising THING that occurs regularly in our lives. But they change due to
different factors. Many a time I have intended a lot of things with a lot of ambitions but
had to cancel or change due to various reasons.

One such incident took place when I had planned a motorcycling trip to Ky Son district,
along with a few friends. On a cold winter day we were sitting at a milk tea shops near
my place, and while we enjoyed our drinks, when I suddenly came up with an idea to go
to a beautiful location in Nghe An on our motorcycles. We all discussed the plan and
after a lot of brainstorming, we finalized our visit in the upcoming month of December,
on our day off. I was very excited and took permission from my family as well. After
their agreement, I started preparing for the expedition and confirming the trip to the last
detail. Sadly, sometimes such things happen due to which our pre-planning goes for a
toss. Two days before we had to leave, my friend came to me and told me about a snow
that happened in the area we had decided to visit. The snow will make it hard for us to
move and it's very wet.
As a result, I was despaired and had almost reached the point of tears. With a heavy heart,
I then called up all my friends and told them about the last minute change and the
cancellation of the trip. Even after the change of plan, I had decided to visit the place
during the autumn and promised myself that I will propose this trip again.

CARD 5: Describe a person you know who speaks a foreign language well
You should say:
• who this person is
• what foreign language he or she knows
• how often he or she uses this language
• and explain why you think this person can speak this language well
Well, speaking a foreign language has now become common almost everywhere. In my
country, everyone knows English as a foreign language and can speak at some level.
However, here I'd like to talk about my friend who speaks other than English foreign
language fluently, and her name is Hien. She is now 21 years old, she knows English,
Japanese, Korean and Chinese and she prepare to study abroad.

Among many languages she speaks, Chinese is the fluenciest spoken languages. she
speaks like a native speaker, whenever she speaks with native speakers even they also
can't figure it out she is non-native. His pronunciation is just like a Chinese newsreader.
I've been really admirable with his foreign language skill.

Concerning about where did she learn, you won't believe, without learning at school, she
learned through Chinese videos, songs and her sister conduct. she has a predilection of
Chinese cinema and watches at least 2 movies in a day. On top of this, she never misses
watching China TV shows. Although she learns by herself, she has a great knowledge
about Chinese.
Overall, one thing I learned from her skill is that no matter where are we, we can learn
any language if we have interest in them. I just loved the way she learns a foreign
language.
CARD 6: Describe a team project you worked on.
You should say:
• what the project was
• who else was involved in it
• how you completed the project
• and explain what you learned from the experience.
During my high school years, I wasn’t exactly very much fond of working on a project.
But, I just didn’t have any other options back then except working on those projects, in
order to get some good grades. Today, I would like to talk about one of those projects for
this topic.

The project, I want to talk about, was creating an advertising campaign to sell a product
in my 10th grade. Of course, the product could be anything from a popular snack item to
an expensive electronic device. Luckily, I was allowed to work with a few other
classmates of mine, otherwise, it would have been really difficult for me to finish the
project on my own.

We were supposed to finish the project within two weeks, and I thought that it was a
reasonable amount of time to do so. But, when we actually started to work on the
projects, it took us about a few days just to argue and come up with the idea of a suitable
product. We eventually decided that we would create an advertisement campaign for
selling “lemon juice”. So, we all started to find information on the health benefits of
lemon. We even kept the lemon juices at different temperatures to discover their true
taste. In fact, we felt that the more information we have about the lemon juice, the easier
it would get for us to create an effective advertising campaign. Finally, once we decided
what particular taste of the lemon juice we would try to highlight in our advertising
campaign, it didn’t take us more than 10 days to finish creating the campaign.

Anyway, I learned a number of things from working on this project. The first lesson was
that we all would need to work hard to listen to our legitimate arguments, even if they
sound very illogical, in order to keep a team spirit alive. Secondly, I also learned that the
communication skills of a person, or how they choose to play with words, can have a
tremendous impact on how we are regarded by other people around us.

CARD 7: Describe a game that you used to play in your childhood.

You should say:
• what the game was
• who you played with
• how it was played
• and explain how you felt about that game.
When I was a child, I often played many games such as eating mandarin, jumping rope,
hide and seek, dragon snake in the cloud. Here I want to talk about hide and seek - It's my
favorite game.
I played hide-and-seek lots of times when I was a kid. Normally we played this game
with friends or classmates after class or during the weekends in a park or at my home.
Firstly, we chose one of us to be the seeker to search around for the rest of us, the hiders.
The game started with the seeker covering his eyes and counting to 10 while everyone
else ran off and found a place to hide. When the counting was finished, the seeker began
a painstaking search for the hiding kids. And that was my favourite part of the game,
because the suspense was just so intense. The hiders could really hold their breath, being
afraid of getting caught. But then, there was always someone who got caught and this
person would become the next seeker unfortunately.
Hide-and-seek was fun because it was simple and we can gathering, and make we closer.
These days children usually play computer games or games on mobile phone to get fun,
but sometimes I really missed those simple pleasures of old days.
CARD 8: Describe a positive change in your life.
You should say:
• when it happened
• where it happened
• what the change was
• and explain how you have benefited from this change.
The positive change that I would like to talk about is ‘I started playing outdoor games
instead of just staying indoors because of my weak body’. when i was a child, i usually
get sick so i didn't want to go out except going to school. Although my friends always
invite me to participate in outdoor activities and tell me about its benefits, I am still shy
because I have never tried it before.
I preferred at home instead of going to open spaces or fields to participate in outdoor
games that involve physical exercises. I found that I was spending more times at home
than being outside. After my parents noticed that, they discussed with me about that and
explained to me the importance of outdoor activities. they said "I can practice slowly to
become a habit of participating in outdoor activities, participating in sports to improve
health"
This was obviously a very positive change for me. This change affected me very
positively. I'm gradually spending more time outside, participating in more sports and
most importantly I'm improving my health and don't get sick as often. I became a good
soccer player, karateka. later on, I started maintaining my times more prudently and I am
sure this change has affected me positively in terms of physical and mental health.
CARD 9: Describe a risk you have taken which had a positive result.
You should say:
• what it was
• why you took it
• what the result was
• and explain how you felt about it.
To be honest, risk plays a significant role in every person’s life because it not only
increase the confidence level but motivates a person to do something new and
challenging. I also experienced a situation when I helped a person by taking full risk.
It happened about 3 years ago. I went to Hue with my friend to take part in a karate
competition in Bach Ma mountain and we walked to the peak. The weather was very
relaxed, and we all enjoyed very much by climbing, having meals and praticing together
about 3 days.
in the lastday, I heard some noise, and I asked people what happened then one person told
me that a person slipped on a cliff but luckily, she caught a branch. Because the cliff was
quite narrow, she needed a small person to give her the rope. In the group, I am the most
suitable person to do this. This is very dangerous, just not being careful can be dangerous
for both of us, but I decided to take the risk.
I told that to pull the chain to stop the train by an unfortunate chain was not working. So
it was so risky to help someone in the running trainI walked along the cliff holding the
rope and gave it to her, I had to try to get it out quickly because I was afraid the branch
would not bear it. I finally finished, everyone above tried to pull me and her up. It's
dangerous. But we did not give up and try our best.
It took a half-hour to release she was safe. But I did it, and as a result, I successfully
released the girl without any injury.
CARD 10: Describe a crowded place you have been to. You should say:
• where the place is
• when you went there
• with whom you went there
• and explain how you felt about this crowded place.
I'm one of those people who doesn't like being in crowded places, but that doesn't mean I
can't completely stay away from crowded places. Before providing more details about my
experience in a very crowded place, I would like to thank you for this topic and the
opportunity for me to talk about it.
I have been to many crowded places and there I cannot move without bumping into other
people. But perhaps nowhere is as crowded as the bus station where I went on the
occasion of Tet. Every year near the New Year, students will often take a long-distance
bus ride back to their hometown to be with their families because students don't have
money to travel by plane. I went to Hanoi last January, which is a few weeks before Tet. I
went out to visit my siblings right after our semester ended. But when I returned to my
hometown, I didn't know that I would face such a large crowd! I returned home a week
before Tet and took the bus I had bought a ticket for. The roads were quite busy, and we
had to get to the station first to avoid traffic jams. But as soon as we entered the station
with my siblings, we noticed something was wrong and there was a sea of people! We
cannot understand its gravity until we try to move through this mass. It's impossible, and
I feel like I'm having a nightmare!
I was never a crowd-friendly person. However, there is a limit to how much crowds I can
withstand. But that day, it was crazy. Most of the buses on that day, missed the schedule
because there were too many cars and people, so it was difficult to leave the station. It's
much more crowded than the bus station on a normal day! My initial thought was to leave
the station and return the next day, but I cannot do so because We are trapped in a sea of
people unable to move. Finally, after 3 hours, the crowd gradually recovered and we got
on the car to go home.
