[Guide] Array Basics

WARNING: This Guide is a Work in Progress and thus incomplete. I will try to get all the
information in as fast as I can but keep in mind that Age of Wulin is just a hobby.
Additionally the Guide is heavily influenced by my own opinions so you are free to disagree
on whatever you want, but I will only alter it if you actually provide good arguments for your
point of view.

1. Introduction
2. Why do I like Arrays?
3. Types of Arrays and where to obtain
4. How to coordinate and set them up

(1) Introduction:
Arrays, one of the most formidable enemies in the world of Wulin. Countless Guilds have
failed and crumbled before might of such a task as setting up an array in less then 15min
and now I want to help you clear one of humanity's biggest challenges to date!

(2) Why do I like Arrays and why should you like them as well?
Arrays are an easy way to give your group interesting and useful passive stat boosts that will
make your life in the merciless Jianghu just that tiny bit easier. With the introduction of
Sect-Arrays there is now a good amount of variety to be had in the effects you can gain and
combined with the stat boosts gained by chess player bonuses they are a staple for pretty
much every team based activity in the game.
If I take my own character as an example, I barely crit ever. It doesn’t matter if I use Internal
or External Sets, if I run 700 Strength or Vigorous Qi, the crits just won’t happen. However!
With a 25% Crit-Array enabled the Crit-Rate suddenly shoots through the roof and I can
easily crit 2 out of 3 hits. Stacking more Crit-Effects further increases this rate until Non-Crits
become a rarity. Of course having almost 100% more crit also almost doubles your DPS
which makes Forbidden Areas just so much faster and easier.
But Crit is not always the only thing you are looking for. There is effects for increased dodge,
enemy mana-drain, a healthy amount of extra external skill defence or even a heal that
drains your mana for a (hopefully) prolonged life.

(3) What Arrays are there? What do they do? Where do you get them?

(4) How to coordinate and setup Arrays

Quick-Tips
Joining an Array:
- Be mindful of your surroundings
- Learn the Formation of the most basic and most used arrays so you can join them
even if you don’t see the diagram on the ground
- Don’t stand in an Array-Spot if you are already part of one (If you do, you will get a
small red Error-Message)
- Always remember the Player in whose Array you joined
- If you are the Array-Eye (Ring around your feets) stay close to the Player that set the
Array
- Don’t avoid the diagram position of the array eye, it’s better to have an array running
even if it’s broken relatively quickly then not getting it setup at all
Setting an Array:
- Only use Arrays with a long or complicated setup if you have some spare time, not in
the middle of a fight
- Don’t run away from your Array-Eye
- Communicate which Formation you want to set up and if your team is split also add
your location
- Don’t start an Array while too few Team Members are around you, even if you know
ppl are on their way (If they are not in visual range when you start the Array
animation they won’t be able to see the diagram on the ground even if they arrive
right next to you)
- If you have a slowmo animation on setup, cancel it and try again
