From the beginning when God
created man, He had a perfect
plan for man. Satan was not
amused and so he disrupted the
plan of God and misled our first
parents into disobedience
towards God. Adam and Eve
sinned and they had to face the
consequences of their
disobedience. Today man is
struggling with sin because the
image of God that man was
endowed with at creation was
marred.
Many learning institutions
have been established to provide
a wide range of information and
knowledge. One only needs to
choose a model that is suitable to
qualities. His mind was well-
balanced, and all the powers of his
being were harmonious. But the
fall and its effects have perverted
these gifts. Sin has marred and
well-nigh obliterated the image of
God in man. It was to restore this
that the plan of salvation was
devised, and a life of probation was
granted to man. To bring him back
to the perfection in which he was
first created, is the great object of
life,—the object that underlies
every other. It is the work of
parents and teachers, in the
education of the youth, to co-
operate with the divine purpose;
and in so doing they are “laborers
together with God.” [1 Corinthians
3:9.] (CE 63.3)

MISSION POSSIBLE

Blessed be the name of the
Lord our God who enabled us to
receive almost one thousand new
souls into the Adventist faith
through baptism in Siaya County,
Central Nyanza Conference. Siaya
county is a great mission field in
WKUC. In the month of March,
the entire WKUC focused in Siaya
county for evangelistic efforts in
almost 90 sites.
The greatest challenge met
was handling traditional issues
and drugs and mushrooming
small religious groups, and
poverty. In some areas the
Catholic church is so strong that
some of our members found it
difficult to conduct efforts. “If
there is a place ripe for taking
administration closer to the people
it is Siaya county. The church will
grow very fast,” says the
evangelism director Pastor
Nicodemus Onyango.
Siaya County is a place that the
Union is giving attention for
Mission purposes. The next place
where we shall take the entire
Union evangelistic team from all
conferences is in the entire Kuria
region in Suna Migori. The church
was organized for mission and,
even though there are many
forces the enemy of God has
released against the church, we
must still put mission first. That is
our mandate.
We must keep on making
disciples. Evangelizing the
territory is one thing. Making the
new converts disciples is another.
Our greatest challenge today is
discipleship. In WKUC we must
evangelize and bring them into
the fold but more so we must
continue making them disciples
of Christ.
WKUC EXPLOITS
Disciples are followers of
Christ who come to learn of Him
in order to go for Him and do as
Christ has commanded. We must
teach the disciples to obey
everything that Christ has
commanded us in His word
(Matthew 28:20). I urge all
preachers in our territory to
remember to preach the word but
also to teach people to obey
Christ. The everlasting Gospel is a
call to fear God and to keep His
commandments. We who teach
the word must also walk
according to its precepts.
PRIVATE PRAYER IS THE
SECRET OF POWER IN PUBLIC
LIFE. MAKE YOUR PRIVATE
LIFE THICK WITH GOD AND
YOUR PUBLIC LIFE WILL
MINISTER TO OTHERS THE
GRACE THAT YOU RECEIVE IN
THE QUIET PLACE OF PRAYER
If we do not teach people to
love God and to walk in obedience
to all His Ten Commandments we
shall end up with people who are
shallow in their knowledge and
experience of God. Such people
have a form of religion but deny
Him in their conduct.
A form of religion without the
life transforming power can easily
become a hindrance to the very
gospel we are spreading. To avoid
falling into this pit of having a
form of religion without its power
we must be intentional in
teaching people how to have a
deeper walk with Christ.

One key practice desperately
needed today is spending time in
secret prayer. We must
constantly spend time with Christ
in privacy. Private prayer is the
secret of power in public life.
Make your private life thick with
God and your public life will
minister to others the grace that
you receive in the quiet place of
prayer. Read the Bible to hear the
voice of God speaking to you
personally, and respond to Him in
prayer and commitment to
obedience.
Only as you obey what God has
shown you in the private place of
prayer that He will show you even
more things. Evangelism and
discipleship are our mission
possible. Not by might, nor by
power but by His Spirit alone.
May we continue to pray and to
cooperate with the Holy Spirit in
this noble work. Our victory is
already guaranteed in union with
Christ Jesus. To Him alone be all
the glory for what has been
realized in our mission in WKUC...

world. The General Conference

shares the day with the youth-
Global Youth Impact Day.
In Chepsenoy church in GRVC,
the children had Vocational Bible
School (VBS) where for a whole
week they gathered to learn and
study the Bible through children
lessons and different activities.

mobilized for service,
contributing to the proclamation
of the everlasting gospel and
ushering in the second coming of
Jesus Christ. There is a lot more
to religious faith than simply
going to church and listening to

involves the revelation of God’s
love in living out Jesus’s gospel
commission as He bade us to

At the end of every GYD, the
youth week of prayers starts
Sabbath evening. This year’s
theme was; “The present Truth:
God’s message for today.” The
young people at West Kenya
Union Conference, went around
sharing hope with different
people in need at different
locations. Below are a few that
were captured and reported.

Field included having children
preach on Sabbath, visiting the
elderly in the community and
visiting a children's home in
Turkana County.
In Marigo district under Pr.
Omwenga, the children visited an
old granny with several gifts and
food supplies. And in Kaprot
district, the children visited the
forgotten in the community
praying with them and giving
them foodstuffs.

TOTAL MEMBER INVOLVEMENT- TMI

The union-wide TMI campaign
this year 2022 took place in Siaya
County in Central Nyanza
Conference. This Union organized
TMI focused in Siaya County
which happens to be one of the
un-entered areas within the
union. This mega campaign saw
over one hundred pastors and lay
preachers from around the union
converge in Siaya County for a
great gospel impact.
The campaign commenced on
March 5th, 2022, and ended on
March 19th, 2022. At the end of
this campaign, over 800 new
souls were won for the kingdom.

During the campaign, there
were a few events or initiatives
that took place that are worth
mentioning.
In Osiri centre, the few church
members on the ground were so
enthusiastic about the initiative
and wanted to show their support
and so every member, young and
old, volunteered to produce
ballast of two wheelbarrows each.
Among the volunteers, there was
a 73-year-old lady who was also
determined to lead by example
and be counted as having
participated in winning a soul for
the Lord.

at the Central Nyanza Conference of the
Seventh-day Adventists.

Pr. Githinji and new members
In another location, Oele
centre, a non- Adventist lady
donated land in memory of her
late son who was a member of the
Adventist church. This happened
to be the centre of Pr. Peter
Githinji, the Greater Rift Valley
Conference evangelism
coordinator. At the end of the
campaign, there were 17 people
baptized. Interestingly, the lady
who donated the land for church
construction also gave her life to
the Lord.
This lady was brewing alcohol
for a livelihood. When she heard
the word, she gave up her trade
to be baptized into the family of
the Lord. Her only worry was how
she was going to make a living
now that she had to give up her
trade.
The guest speaker Pr. Githinji
assured her that the Lord will
never leave her nor forsake her
now that she had decided to
follow Him. Pr. Githinji was able
to put up a church on the
donated land before leaving the
site.

were announced on March 28,
2022.

his daughter said, “This is one of

Bigogo was so grateful to his

his family in prayer even as the
