Definition: Point of view
is the perspective of the
voice the author chooses
to tell a story.
There are three main points of
view used within literature:

★ First Person

★ Second Person

★ Third Person
Dialogue vs. Narration
● Dialogue = when characters speak
● Narration = when the narrator speaks

★ “Quotation marks” separate narrations from dialogue
