Chapter IV

This chapter presents an analysis and interpretation of data gathered with

regards to the Difficulties of Grade 10 Orange students in Understanding English

Modules Instructions in the New Normal.

The findings of this study are presented as follows:

1. Number of students encountered difficulties in understanding LAS instruction

2. Difficulties in understanding LAS instructions

3. Recommendations offered to address difficulties in understanding English

modules

The graph presented the data collected by the researcher using the survey form

given to the 25 respondents in G-10 Orange students in Anislag National High School.

The researcher tabulated the response to identify the number of students encountered

the difficulties in understanding LAS instructions.

In the graph shown above, it exposed that 23(92%) of students out of 25

respondents encountered difficulties in understanding the LAS instructions while 2(8%)

of the students have no difficulties encountered.

Analyzing the meaning of unfamiliar words The instructions is too lengthy or wordy

In the graph shown above, it revealed the difficulties encountered by the G-10

Orange students in understanding LAS instructions in which 17 students or 68% have

difficulty in analyzing the meaning of unfamiliar words, 3 or 12% of the students


answered that the LAS is not readable or clear while having the same percentage of 4%

of the respondents answered that they have difficulty in contextualizing the instruction,

the instructions is too lengthy or wordy and limited resources (technology).

Support direct instruction from teachers The LAS must be readable


Simplify the instructions Contextualize the instruction
Use differentiated instruction

Based on the graph, it shows the data gathered by the researcher regarding to

the recommendations to cope up the difficulties in understanding the LAS instructions.

The recommendation that has the highest percentage is the support direct instruction

from teachers which has 16 or 64%, next to that, 5 or 20% of the students suggested

that it must simplify the instructions and 2 or 8% of the students recommended that the

LAS must be readable and contextualize the instruction.
